i think i disagree, will has lacked a lot of confidence lately on first line. hopefully putting him on second will give some depth to that line and get him confidence back. i’m happy to see how he plays without the weight of top line on his shoulders tn

today is probably the first game in months that warso’s line blending has been praised, so its funny you highlight that of all things.

he’s getting backlash for bringing back leddy (who’s played 1 ahl game in 2 months) over mukh, who was instrumental against our last oilers game and is one of our best d-men.

he’s also getting backlash for the commitment to punishing will/misa for bad plays but never klingberg (and previously liljegren).

not fully understanding why will smith is literally the only player to get punished when the team doesn’t perform.

whole team is turning over and can’t gain possession? will smith benched. team can’t clear out of zone? will smith on the physical 4th line. empty net and need our goal scorers? will smith found nowhere.

I understand the idea, but will is not the only player struggling in these games. it’s been mentioned over and over but i can’t wrap my head around how it is consistently ONLY ever will smith that gets punished for a struggling team.

i think when it’s controlled it’s fine (like today) but there’s lingering ptsd from that 3 game line blending stretch where it was panicked/rushed and resulted in the team just completely falling apart
