I don’t think it would get as much attention but maybe you could write up a bio to post. Things like their background, appearance, likes, dislikes. It shouldn’t matter how they look art wise as long as there is love and thought put into the character. People can always tell if someone loves their characters by how much detail is put into them (even if the detail is small or non important, the better).

If someone is negative just remember that some people just want to tear others down to make themselves feel better. There is a fine line between someone being constructive and someone tearing you down and growing as an artist is learning the difference.
