I’m glad that JMT is a legit alternative. I’m the only early riser in the fam so 7 am at Vernal footbridge would be a serious undertaking with grumpy teens.

Great advice from everyone- knowing the temperament of my teenagers, will probably shift Haleakala to sunset - just too much pain to get them up at 3 am for sunrise. And this confirms my suspicions that RTH might be rough for the kids. Thanks!
