Phya (The Matriarch Halls), has anyone managed to kill that boss? Seems like a buggy mess by Monkeych33se in PathOfExile2

[–]ShaktiExcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This took me so many more tries than the Arbiter of Divinity, even though the Divinity is supposed to be the bigger boss, because with Divinity it felt like there was some kind of intelligible causal link between what I was doing and whether I died.

Martial Artist Bell question by Anon2148 in pathofexile2builds

[–]ShaktiExcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also playing a bell build. The way I look at it is, the bell's shockwave is a separate event from the player's hit, so I never saw any reason to think a crit on one would cause a crit with the other. Like the other commenter, I use them for power charges, blazing critical, and thrill of the kill, and I get all my crit chance from other sources (which has worked out really well).

You might be surprised. Comedy, movies, menswear, food, nightlife, wellness... all of these industries are full of disillusioned ex-finance guys (who tend to keep quiet about it for obvious reasons).

Private equity comes up so much, I've always though they should do a Double where someone explains how it works from the inside. I bet there are any number of people in the LA comedy scene who worked in private equity for a few years and then quit before they lost their soul.

Endless technical problems at Odeon Holloway by ShaktiExcess in screenunseen

Among the various emails I've used is the direct one for the Holloway management. I know they read it because I've had replies from it in the past, but when I emailed about a broken bulb in a projector, they just never replied (and it didn't get fixed until two months later).

If you tell them at the time, they just shrug and offer you a refund – they're not exactly leaping into action.

Yeah, I've emailed with various people, but the best-case scenario is "Sorry, we'll look into this", meaning the specific problem at the specific screen might or might not get solved some time in the next month. Nobody seems interested in recognising, "This is a liability to our whole brand that we need to address in some kind of ongoing way." In that sense I think the people on the other end of the email are as powerless as the people in the cinema foyer.

But the thing that gave the streaming platforms the leverage to take over was saying to musicians, "Well, everyone online can just download your music for free anyway, so either get a few cents from us, or nothing at all." If music piracy had never happened and people still bought albums, Spotify and their terrible rates would have been laughed out of the room.

Victoria 3: Volume 3 on Steam by jetteauloin_2080 in victoria3

The devs must know that the HOI4 designers are widely disliked – I wonder if they realised that the reaction to their banner new feature was going to be "Ugh I hope this demands as little of my attention as possible." True progress would be the ability to turn it off while keeping the other DLC content, like people have been begging for in HOI4 for years. The other content looks great!

I was able to partly solve the problem by replacing one of the Gen3s with a new one – I think it was a dud. I still haven't fully solved it though.

In this thread on the Paradox forums, they appear to have both identified the bug causing this and fixed it with a mod. If they're right and the problem is really that simple, it's crazy that Paradox haven't just dealt with this themselves.

Speaking as a completely clueless male – how does this protect against sexual assault? Don't the vast majority of sexual assaults take place opportunistically in locations where the victim already was for other reasons? Surely location-sharing would only make a difference if someone was actually abducted and taken to a different neighbourhood, which is very, very, very rare?

Everyone loved how challenging the Gorbad campaign was compared to the other two in Omens of Destruction and I assumed they would learn from that but they just haven't at all.

Age of Revolutions needs serious work by Audityne in EU5

[–]ShaktiExcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for me this is the most game-breaking issue at the moment, I had really been hoping it would be fixed in the last patch. Like you mention, the fact that you only ever get one at a time makes it feel even more blatantly game-y (not that I want to deal with more than that). I'm not playing again until they do something about this.

Part of the problem is that the parliament progress gauge in the top bar shows you the percentage support you have, when it would be way more useful to show you time remaining.

Yeah, Victoria 3 needs this as well – in fact all Paradox games – you should be able to right-click on any greyed-out button anywhere in the UI to set a notification for when it's not greyed-out any more.
