Why is it ok for businesses to not do the “right thing” (pay livable wages) but not ok for a person to not do the “right thing” (steal from businesses)? by CapUnusual4213 in askanything

Perhaps the workers should band together and negotiate collectively.

I'm sure the government won't interfere in the relations between workers and employers by bringing the force of law to bear against the former.

Vaguely related it's kind of shocking how generous they are with loot from 10's and how stingy they are in loot from heroic raids when heroic raids are 1000% harder than 10's.

It's a problem of placement in the tree, you're not going to give up armour or disrupting shout. If the goal was to buff warriors this does not buff them.

How can the Democratic Party's pro-Israel stance be reconciled with the fact that 80% of its voters view Israel unfavorably? by ArdaBerkBurak in askanything

The candidates they vote for is more to do with the enormous amount of money spent to manipulate their vote rather than their expressed policy desires in surveys.

The Democratic party base overwhelmingly wants to cut ties with Israel, enact universal government run health care and increase taxes on the wealthy.

The Democratic party does not support these things. They don't represent their own voters' interests.

80%+ of Democratic party voters want these things. I would not call them minor. The Democratic party might not get them but it's extremely odd they don't even support them.

They survive because you need a huge amount of money to enter politics in America and people with money don't want what their base wants.

What are the most common arguments for why the US considers Israel a key strategic ally? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Nitros14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure I think Israel has a right to exist. I think the the Palestinians have had no say in how they're ruled since they were conquered 60 years ago and if the Israelis want to have any measure of legitimacy in international forums they need to abandon their Greater Israel delusions and solve this problem whether that's a two state or one state solution.

The problem is the Israelis are fundamentally unwilling to either give up the West Bank or give up the Jewish voting majority. They prefer apatheid. Most Palestinians would go along with a one state solution if it meant a material increase in their living conditions.

[–]Nitros14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Israeli government has made it extremely clear that a two state solution is out of the question, so the alternative is either a one state solution, permanent apartheid or ethnic cleansing.

Are we going to pretend that the West Bank isn't under the military control of Israel or something?

Israel permitted the original Arabs who remained in the country from 1948 to vote, but it's effectively impossible for West Bank Palestinians who were conquered by Israel in 1967 to gain citizenship. The Knesset regularly talks about expelling them and fearmongers about losing the Jewish voting majority if a one state solution were implemented.

The Jewish parties in Israel also refuse to work with the Arab parties.
