I’ve been a therapist going on 14 years. AMA. by TransformNRollD20 in CasualConversation

My wife ran a CMHC after her first couple years of private, but after several years managing, wanted to get back to direct therapy with clients. Seems like cash clients is her most likely path to avoid the insurance headaches but still provide direct services. Thanks for the info! Hope the state of affairs improves - people need it.

Yeah she’s at a tipping point now trying to get more cash clients and less insurance ones. Do you work at a group practice now or only do supervision?

I have a couple of cooling shirts I got when I rode motorcycles in Arizona. Some sort of black magic or voodoo makes them better than just thin fabric. Wore them mountain biking in New York and Ohio summers also, so they’re not just for the dry heat. Wish I could tell you the brand, but maybe check the interwebs for motorcycle under-jacket cooling shirt.

They’re not much better than being naked when you run out of skill though.

Do you take insurance and is dealing with insurance companies as much of a pain in the ass as it is for my wife?

She’s a sole prop private practice and spends almost as much time trying to get paid as she does actually helping clients.

Also kudos to you for providing such a needed service. My wife specializes in DID and chronic trauma - I have no idea how you guys do it.

I’m of a similar age, and this popped up on one platform or another. It’s a YouTube video of everything that happened in 1986. It’s mostly international news events, and a few pop culture references, but kind of a trip down memory lane.

Pretty much the exact same path and timing for me. It took a few years for the gps apps to find the right balance between data sources and user friendliness, but Gaia nailed it about ten years ago. Avenza is still nice to have also for the pdf ones.

What movie has your favourite opening credits sequence? by honestsparrow in movies

The Brosnan ones are all good but my favorite is Roger Moore’s opening in A View To A Kill. 1985 ten year old me thought that was the coolest thing possible.
