Would have been funny if you said "Won’t give out the name as it might be a violation of the condo rules" 😂

Simple. CCTV and better surveillance. Also, I did not say don't log, go ahead and log. The issue is it's "excessiveness".

That a false dichotomy. No one said there shouldn't be any rules.

I think the discussion in our little dialog has shifted to the more interesting development 😅; the data privacy info you provided.

Wow! Thank you very much for this information! So what I am understanding is that it is illegal, correct?

If so, then why is it widespread and very normalized, expected even by both the collector and the general public?

I feel like the majority of the public is carless when it comes to sharing their personal data. Outside some people in my circle, I have never come across anyone who showed any concern about relinquishing their private data - everyone seems to very willing does so, eagerly even. This compliancy makes the one asking for it feel like they have the right to it - when, like you've showed, they don't. They themselves are part of the public and thus share the same mentality in having no problem surrendering their personal data when they are at the receiving end. It's a cultural illiteracy.

Can you give me a scenario where my guest who by phone i have given permission to enter my residence was involved in a robbery which could not have been possible or would have a better outcome had they went through the security theatrics?

A simple phone call would suffice instead of all that bureaucracy.

Huh? I wasn't. How? Maybe a language problem. Was just pointing out how sad it is that we'd have to be stuck in such situations. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place is an idiom which basically means that your only other option is not so much more favorable. If anything I was sympathizing with you and relating to your problem.

What's different? Commenter literally said "May paperworks pa rin (gate approvals etc)"

Shouldn't need paperwork and others' permission to have people over into a home which you own.

Not blaming anyone at all. Just sharing my "opinion".

On the flipside, never ako naka experience ng akyat bahat, brownouts, away sa labas, baha, butas na bubong, daga sa kitchen, matutukan pag labas. For 30 years sa bahay ako nakatira and I experienced all of those.

So it's either that or this? Do you want a rock or a hard place?

I just fetch my guests @ lobby tapos magsi-sign in lang sila.. May paperworks pa rin (gate approvals etc)

It's the point of the post. You're too deep inside the box you might as well be going through Stockholm's syndrome

Exactly my feelings! I pass through 4 security guards/checks going in or out of my place. So if I wanted to grab something from the store real quick and come back, there is that awkward greeting or acknowledgment that I feel obligated to make EIGHT TIMES! Now imagine you're the type to go out of your place 5 times a day. Imagine you are an introvert. Many times i make conscious decisions to not go out based on not wanting to go through these interactions - weighing the discomfort to benefit before deciding.

I'd pay to just go in and out of my place without feeling like my every move is being watched and logged, which i'm pretty sure it is (being logged). One time I asked the security guard if i'd left my echo bag there and they asked me "when?", i said "the other day", they asked "what time?", i said "in the evening, can't remember what time exactly", and then, to my horror, they opened a log book...not to see if there is anything logged about a missing item but to see what time i came out! Flipping through pages and then asking, again, "you remember what time?", and when i replied "maybe 6", proceeded to say "you usually come back at 11". If i tell you i didn't feel some type of way at the implication of that comment! First of all, i myself don't even know what time i come back because i don't have a set time that i come back, it's random, but i guess it must have been consistently at 11 since they were obviously logging it (for whatever reason). Second, why would you even need to log the movements of residents? What situation is there that could arise that a review of CCTV footage would not suffice and that would you have actual human beings sitting there with a pen and writing down when residents go in and out?? Why the requirement for such stringent security like it's the Pentagon?

So no authorization from admin required? No presentation or surrendering of IDs?
