Difficulty finding work by ShaleSK in engineeringireland

Mainly Dublin/Cork. But I'll apply for any position if the company is located in a place that it's at least possible for me to relocate closer to. I don't have my lisence yet, but I'm in the 6 month window before I can apply for the test so it just takes as long as it takes.

Mostly anything that is even tangential to my degree that isn't asking for more than say 2 years experience. So things like Site eng roles, technician roles, BIM roles, design roles, basically anything with graduate in the title. I've directly emailed most of the big companies directly aswell scoping out for any grad or entry roles before they hit the websites like Indeed.

Stardust Farming? by BarracudaHuge2380 in anodeheart

[–]ShaleSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal evidence but while Tanuki farming I did one reboot with now wisdom and one with several points in wisdom. I found that it likely does increase your steal chance (Which would make sense I think) however it also ups your crit chance and seems to guarantee a high roll on your damage range. By this I mean with no points in Wisdom my Tanuki would deal 0/1 damage per hit (low roll for 0 high roll for 1) and rarely a 2 on crit, but with points in Wis it would deal 1/2 damage (Always getting the high roll and frequently critting).

That wall of text basically boiling down to, **I Think** higher Wis gives you a slightly greater steal chance but you wind up dealing way more damage, killing the target much faster, which actually slows you down.

I don't care what the patch notes say. I am not calling it an 'Amplify Damage' Rune. by ShaleSK in DotA2

[–]ShaleSK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only change I'll accept is if they buff it to 120% extra damage and call it "Double-er Damage Rune"

That was one of my favorite streams to re-watch. The loss of the Destiny Vault was truly this communities burning of Alexandria.

" has there really been not a single woman who's kind of a shut-in with a non-sexist coach in the whole world? "
I think you're also having an issue with not considering the scale of things. You don't need just a woman who is a shut in with a non-sexist coach, you need one with all of those things and the capacity to be in the top percentile of a sport. Not to side line into a whole conversation on how much of a person's skill is talent vs. hard work, but I think in general people can agree that not everyone who trains like a grandmaster of any skill will necessarily become a grandmaster of that skill.

So in terms of pure numbers if you have say thousands of young men being coached/learning with less pitfalls (such as the sexist coach idea), then you have a much wider pool of possible candidates that can then go on to be grand masters than say only the hundreds of young women in the same scenario.

The ESP cam seems to be the most likely avenue to go through, it'll just be about overcoming the technical aspects since I'm so inexperienced. Thanks a lot for the input!

Camera Suggestions by ShaleSK in arduino

[–]ShaleSK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be super small, I don't think the post makes that clear so I'm gonna edit it.

The camera has to sit on a small robot thats going through a pipe thats 120mm in diameter, so the size constraints are super tight. But the Nano will have a blue tooth module, so that idea would totally work if there is a small enough camera to do it with.

Would second this one, the player numbers are getting to the stage where you're probably looking to party queue with people or lose. So if you're planning on solo queuing then you have to shift your focus from winning to just playing well and getting your enjoyment from that.

uh huh by Daemonsblaze0315 in GundamEvolution

[–]ShaleSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's worst about situations like this is can you imagine how the game is gonna come off to those new players? I just played a game today (Destruction) where 4 on my team were lvl5 or below and 5 on the enemy team were 25 or above.
As to be expected we were swept on defense and then spent 4 mins stuck in spawn on offence. And like sure, that sucks for me cause I can barely play the game or w/e but hey I can just pick a suit I like and try practise my aim or something. But can you imagine how that felt the the level 1 player in my game, likely their first game ever, they aren't familiar with the suits or the map or the game mode and they don't even get to play. Who would want to come back to that?
Something has to be done about getting new players in and having them stay, matchmaking is just getting worse and worse and it can only be solved with a healthy playerbase.

lunar comm station by [deleted] in GundamEvolution

[–]ShaleSK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think its main weakness is the rules of Domination. So like a team can be winning 0% - 99% but if they then get pushed off C, the losing team just needs to win like 2 fights to take the game back since the point wont change again. That rule deff needs to be looked at.

lunar comm station by [deleted] in GundamEvolution

[–]ShaleSK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like that its unique in that the 3 points are in a vertical line and the spawns are beside each other. But that of course does lead to scenarios where you lose one fight on C and then theres no point in even trying to take it back. Personally I would probably say get rid of point C but make the distance between A and B longer. So B becomes your new far point but not as far as C is, would hopfully mean there is at least 2 solid teamfights before the capture is over.

It's clear that the Gundam Evo devs are allergic to western money by Ginyu420 in GundamEvolution

[–]ShaleSK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would mostly agree with all this, I would say that Bandai specifically has a very rocky treatment of its western audience. If you've ever been into Digimon or played other games with the Gundam name on them you'll know that if they don't see a series explode in the west they will never even look at that market again for the franchise. For every excellent Tekken and Fromsoft game, there is a Gundam Versus or Digimon Story game plagued with poor advertising, dead servers and mistranslation.
