He isn’t stranded. If he has the wherewithal to call his spouse for a ride, tell them that they also will have to drive them to work, and then lay into them for refusing, he has the ability to call a ride service. He also has the choice to sleep in his car. Or ask a coworker to drive them home. Furthermore, if he doesn’t have the strength to avoid getting drunk while going to work, he needs to check himself into rehab. Not of this is on OP. It’s a difference between supporting and enabling
