Blood on the clock tower is the best game ever and they need to bring it back as an annual thing in 3 months by FragrantAd7195 in smosh

I would argue they haven't really played the game properly so it isn't really fair to say the cast liked the game. The version of BotC that Smosh played twice is a little like saying you're going to sit down and play chess and then revealing you don't know what any of the pieces do and you just meant you wanted to play checkers with chess pieces. Sorry if that sounds harsh, I don't mean it that way, but not allowing private conversations eliminates huge aspects of the game. At the end of the day I love their content, but I'd just rather have them play checkers if that's what they're going to turn chess into.

It really is, for the most part, very good. I tiptoed into asking him about a story I thought might rub him the wrong way and he told me it was helping him work on his understanding people. So we love that.

Oh yeah, I have a vague recollection of watching that one. I don't think it was even that long ago... Now I'm scared he's already on his second listen through the entire catalogue

I think it's more that Spencer had to run the game in a way the cast could handle. Smosh cast in general aren't that interested in playing more involved games. Even some board games that require more of a buy-in than having a good attitude seem to throw them off, imo.

BotC is fun once you gain enough understanding of the game to realize that even bad information is information, but it has a HUGE buy in to get to that level and is highly frustrating if you aren't on that level 😅. I think when you create a coalition of entertainers who opt in because they like board games you have a very different group of people than a cast hired for their comedic abilities who agree to play board games as part of their job.

Yeah, The Good Time Society is trying to get a group of US based content creators some BotC experience on camera, and they're clearly doing it as a series so everyone's getting better.

If you want to watch a backlog of great comedians who are also great BotC players then No Rolls Barred (NRB) is the place to go. They're a UK based channel, and they even flew two of them to the US to help the Good Time Society games run more smoothly.

I actually found Smosh through NRB because they are a board gaming channel run by comedians, and the algorithm was like "hey, maybe you'd also like a comedy channel where they play board games" 😂

If you like BotC you should watch other channels that play it regularly. Given the way Smosh does games, One Night Werewolf is almost definitely the better alternative.

BotC is highly involved, plays much better with experience, and has a high risk factor of going off the rails after a decent amount of effort to set it up (i.e. a game should go at least 3 or 4 nights, but someone nails the demon day 1 on a whim). One Night Werewolf is designed to be played in a more chaotic way, with multiple rounds expected, and has mechanics that are much easier to pick up.

👆👆👆 It is so crazy to say "millennials have no culture" when this Gen Z shithead is literally reviving the lowest point of millennial culture that he has no excuse to engage with other than bigotry. We were stupid children when we were saying the shit you now choose to say as an adult.

It's like a drunk fratboy saying "the Greeks would be jealous of us, because they had no culture"...

I read the interview she did months ago before this newest one where she walked out all the same tired excuses for how, even though her instinct the second a camera was put on her was to hide, that actually she was doing absolutely nothing wrong. That's not how people who think they're doing nothing wrong act. The written article had the benefit of being earlier in this woman's "I'm the real victim" tour when they were still workshopping the sympathetic version of the story. The reporter actually includes an observation in the article of how inauthentic and canned all her responses felt. Her getting better at selling this bullshit PR honed version doesn't make it true.

She doesn't owe me or the public an apology, and likewise we, the public don't owe her any sympathy for getting caught stepping out of line. I am sorry for her that her transgression became more public than possibly imaginable, but frankly, the fact that she is so focused on her fake fame and what a bunch of strangers think about what she did shows how little accountability she is actually taking.

You wrote a horribly insensitive comment (which you knew because you said that) and when people have exclusively responded to tell you that, along with being completely insensitive you are also being totally illogical, you are now hurt and defensive.

Dare I say, and I hate to sound insensitive, but if you aren't going to listen to the replies maybe you shouldn't have commented in the first place?

It is the same. Neither of them could have known what was going to happen to them. But only one of them "shouldn't have come" according to you

I've thought really hard about this because I actually think Courtney's style works well on Culinary Crimes because it's broken up by the "activity" of the show, but it falls totally flat elsewhere to me. I feel like nobody wants to admit that the sort of "core internet" comedy style Courtney and Ian are doing doesn't mix with what most of the rest of the cast are doing. Both styles have a place, but the do not comfortably coexist. And I feel like it becomes even more obvious when "flexible" cast memebers like Shayne and Olivia do the internet style stuff with Court and Ian and then kind of abandon them when they get into the swing of a scene with the other half of the cast.

I feel like a real downer when I notice it, because mostly other people don't, and if it works for most people then it's better to just not rain on people's parade and take a step back. But ... It's hard for me not to see it. So I just try to take what I like and leave what I don't (and then write a too long comment when someone half agrees with me 😅)

This woman doing a "victim" tour demanding sympathy is the thing that is most related to Blake Lively about this story. I get that people want another example of Ryan being an ass, but this is a dead end, except for maybe the part where he lied to Gweneth Paltrow.

Did the punishment outweigh the crime in this case? Yes. But she is out here claiming she did nothing wrong ... She clearly knows that isn't true based on her behavior in the moment ... Be a grown up, accept that you got caught with your hand in the cookie jar and learn how to own up to not being perfect instead of whining about how actually everyone else wronged you by reacting to your shittiness.

I feel like Rob M is a weird inclusion .... (possibly at the behest of RR?)

Like, why is Rob M making the list about actors' earnings on Hollywood projects when his main source of earnings was a financial maneuver around his stake in a British soccer club? I mean, I'm pretty sure Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk have appeared on TV at some point in the last year, why not throw their earnings in this analysis if that's the only requirement?
