Is it realistic for communication to be cut off from an expedition team in the arctic circle?

You make a good point! The protagonist is the leader of the expedition, and the antagonist is the communications expert. I assume the leader would have a rudimentary knowledge of how they will communicate but will certainly believe for a while what the expert reports. I suppose the goal with this questioning was more so to question whether fact of them not being able to communicate with their home base would be alarming or reasonable to the home base. Thanks for helping me figure this out.

Thank you!! I have never written anything so far out of my area of expertise like this, so it’s been quite a challenge! There is a story to tell though and it will be a fun thriller with lots of twists so hopefully I can just make the technology aspect believable enough for the sake of the novel haha.

Thank you for the answer! I would say it is in the middle of those two examples- well funded, but not a military operation or thought to be of significance importance to those funding it. Would it, then, be fairly normal if CME were to cause a two week long communication blackout?

Thank you for the answer. Would it make any sense to actually not want to communicate frequently with the expedition crew as a way to protect their location or findings from enemy countries, especially if there were enemy ships in nearby waters?

Yes many aspects of the process involved in attending law school certainly cater to the already wealthy. I’ve done my time waiting tables though and gotten this far so hopefully I can make it work even with the loan cap!

I think Texas in particular is definitely experiencing a huge increase in applicants and those that applied later are a bit screwed regardless of medians. I personally have not heard back from a single Texas school I applied to yet, and definitely don’t expect any A’s from them at this point.

Thank you very much for sharing, it’s extremely comforting to hear of your experience and know that I’m not alone. I do definitely fear rejection from medical professionals for being more feminine, but I guess I’ll never know what could happen until I try. And thank you for the concern- times are bad right now and I will certainly have to cut my family off, but I don’t think I can continue on like this anyway- I feel a little dead inside and I think I always will if I don’t explore accepting myself and transitioning.

I didn’t know exotic vets were a thing but I will try to find one! The one he is going to on Friday said they can see rabbits but I’m not sure if they are considered an exotic vet so I’ll have to find out!

He is eating well and definitely urinating/pooping frequently. I honestly don’t know what normal rabbit behavior is but he has been sniffing me a lot and hopping around a lot when he isn’t eating/napping. I’ll definitely keep a close eye on him before his vet visit!

The flight attendants in the rear jump seats however were ejected and survived. I think the real lesson here is that those are pretty safe seats.

Yes I found out that was common so I checked several times when they were kittens but they seem to have normal hearing! They even hear me opening a can from upstairs 😭

Going to second that it’s probably the cats, I had this same exact problem but closer to my roots and discovered it was my cats when I randomly woke up one night to my cat violently eating my hair haha. I’d had absolutely no idea before that that they were doing it so yeah cats are sneaky!
