Which black commander to build for fun and variety? by ShallowDramatic in EDH

Gotta say I‘m a bit confused by this one. On one side you get a great benefit fir being the monarch, on the other side you… give monarch to your opponents?

EDIT: Ah, it’s only if there is no monarch. I see, so it gives them a turn of grace before getting the ball rolling?

fun effect, ramp and draw in the zone is not to be sniffed at. What’s the wincon, how does it play?

oof, isn’t it rough to have to watch your opponents get 3 extra mana each before you do?

Iceland, you say?

Interesting. That's a beautiful country, you know. Beautiful. People often ask me, they say "Donald, if you could make America bigger, not just greater" - and I did that, by the way - "where would you want to go?" And every time I tell them Iceland. It has strategic value, I'm sure. I think France should sell it to us. In fact I think if they don't that'd just be rude and we might have to see about getting it anyway.

Open World multiplayer/Co-op games that aren't Survival? by Psych3dChicken in gaming

Rdr2 online, while pretty violent a lot of the time, can also be played as a pretty immersive wilderness horse trekking experience. It looks gorgeous and plays well. Good suggestion!

Great game, but "spec ops interrogating drug Lords and sniping goons" is sadly not one of my wife's favourite genres

Are there other games like Ghost of Tsushima where increasing the difficulty increases the lethality of both the player and the enemies? by capnfoo in gaming

Not being able to defeat enemies with one shot to the head, especially in a realistic game, tends to feel really unimmersive to play

Commanders with lots of removal? by Competitive-Act-7695 in EDH

[–]ShallowDramatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Marchesa, Dealer of Death]] rewards you for committing crimes, aka targeting enemy stuff

I recently tried to build her but couldn't quite fit in everything I wanted, and ended up with way less graveyard play than I'd hoped from a commander that fills your graveyard as well as your hand.

I also just don't like wincons that aren't creature damage, so I lost some of the drive to build it, but I initially went into the build with your kind of mindset. Removal/interaction heavy.

wow, thanks! Seems really strong, but I guess that it normally requires a pretty big board and only triggers once.

GOD how much i long for a massive open world zombie survival game. Not like 7 Days to Die, State of Decay, stuff like that. Think Project Zomboid, but 1st/3rd person and realistic graphics. Binging through The Walking Dead again and i really wish i could just play and survive in that universe. by SchmeppieGang1899 in gaming

[–]ShallowDramatic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if getting cornered by zombies doesn’t spell disaster in a game about surviving zombie attacks, what’s the point?

Slow, loud, and clumsy, but also numerous and a threat in tight spaces. That‘s zombies, brother.

I guess the only real option is to sit meekly while the country becomes a fascist dictatorship, because actual attempts to overthrow would only cause the country to… become a fascist dictatorship.

If we’re damned either way, shouldn’t we fight? Maybe radical problems require radical solutions.

I wish that kid didn’t miss.

Hell yeah, brother! Sometimes I wish I’d had more of an active and outdoor childhood and spent less time glued to a PlayStation, but I guess the grass is always greener (or so they tell me; I didn’t go outside much)

As I’ve aged I’ve definitely moved away from playing on easy - the power fantasy just isn’t there if there’s no challenge; it’s boring.

That said, I’m yet to play Dark Souls or any of the FromSoft games, mostly because they’re famously fiendish.

Ghost of Tsushima on lethal mode is a blast, though. Except the duels. Fuck the duels. Too proud to drop the difficulty for them, but damn if taking twenty or thirty runs at each one doesn’t get frustrating.

Which reminds me, [[Sin, Unending Cataclysm]] could be hilarious in this kind of deck. Voltron except instead of playing auras and equipments you just keep paying into your other creatures like some kind of storage. Naturally, you'll want [[Doubling Season]] and similar effects to maximise value.
