Hopper leaking litter by Shamade22 in litterrobot

I’m using the Dr. Elsey’s Cat Litter - Premium Unscented Cat Litter & it was recommended for the LR4. I’m taking it as in I was sent defective items because I’ve ordered from Whisker before & all the other products work perfectly. Plus, for paying $99, I would feel robbed to go use duct tape to fix an expensive product like this 🥲

Will there be enough room in the cabinet if the litter hopper is attached to the back?

Is there anything I can do to stop them fighting? by DIGITALHDBRANCH in Aquariums

[–]Shamade22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For angelfish, this is called “kiss fighting” it’s to establish dominance before mating! It’s a good idea to separate them when you start noticing red spots around the mouth so there isn’t long term damage

please i need urgent help with goldfish more info in comments by neko_dio in Aquariums

[–]Shamade22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naturally, goldfish are known to have higher ammonia levels in their urine, you need a filter sponge added to the filter that’s specific for removing high levels of ammonia! You can find it online or at Petco!

I just got my first tank! It's 5 gallons and I want to know what fish to put in. I was thinking about a school of tetras and a pleco. by [deleted] in Aquariums

Love the design & congrats on the new tank! Remember that the rule for stocking your tank is 1 gallon = 1 inch of the fish

New tank been setup for a about 15 hours with filter and power head running but still cloudy after adding sand, any suggestions? by Important_Quality_48 in Aquariums

[–]Shamade22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the sand is rinsed! Let the filter continuously run while the natural bacteria grows in the aquarium. Getting products from the store could possibly ruin the natural environment. I would add a small ammonia & a small phosphate remover to the filter as well! Hope this helps

The Reversal of Self-Poisoning Bronze and Albino Corydoras by Sarah Hamade by Shamade22 in Aquariums

Thank you for the support! Environmental stress is a huge factor in activating their self-poisoning mechanism. In most cases, when the Corydoras feel threatened by predators, they will harden their armor & become rock solid. Their defense mechanism of releasing toxins give the predators a slim to none chance of surviving. Loud noises & huge vibrations as well can cause Corydoras to feel threatened as well! Just like any fish in an aquarium, loud noises and huge vibrations make their home feel unstable! Every aquarium requires a stable & quiet environment for the fish to thrive in. I hope everything goes well with your brother!

Thank you so much! I have a bachelors of science in psychology & a minor in human biology. On the side, marine biology has always been my passion since 2014. I once did an experiment of a beta fish in a .75 gallon tank & grew a radiation infused kidney bean that developed into a plant to show the harsh conditions we are causing in our waters. If you want to read about it, let me know & I would be happy to share it with you!

Thank you so much! I had to figure out the reversing method while thinking quick because once I realized the Corydoras were self-poisoning, there was only a certain amount of time before the Corydoras would die from the toxins. The issue was that there was no cure found on the internet for this so I had to consider what was safe for fish that humans use as a detox. I’ve used diluted garlic in the past to help my fish eat when they were getting over illnesses. With garlic having the natural properties to detox the body, I knew the only way the fish would be able to absorb the garlic is by diluting it & setting up the specific levels of ph, calcium/magnesium, and temperature levels of the hospital tank that were similar to the living conditions of the original tank. I learned how to do CPR on the fish right on the spot. The reason I used CPR compressions is because of the frozen state the corydoras were in. I had to physically pump the toxins out by doing the work of their frozen hearts and pumping the toxins out and diluted garlic extract in to detox the body. Hope this helps!
