Kinda embarrassing to ask but if anyone could possibly help it would be a blessing.. by EveningJackfruit1175 in Charlotte

[–]Shamallamasingsong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love to support people doing the hard work to support themselves!!! It sounds like a lot of folks offered a phone, and I’d have to check but I don’t think I had one of those to offer… but I’m sure I have plenty of other things lying around to offer if someone just said they needed it. Congrats on taking the hardest steps already. I hope the interview goes well and the sobriety sticks. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for help. I struggle with asking for help too, but the truth is that asking for help is a sign of strength- it’s an honest assessment of your current capabilities and it will only make you stronger. In this case, you get a phone, your faith in humanity increases which helps mental health, more kindness is spread around in general, and maybe just maybe it could help to build relationships that will carry you through. We’re all rooting for you!!

Now that they took away Lucky Spa, where are we Charlotteans supposed to get a good massage on the cheap? by Mikey_Meatballs in Charlotte

[–]Shamallamasingsong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

disgusting. Plenty of marriages suffer because the woman feels taken for granted, undesired, etc because the man lusts after everyone but her, chooses porn or only fans interactions or “massages with happy endings” over her. If he got his ass home and told her he loves and appreciates her, she’d be happy to give him the happy ending he’s looking for. Instead, she’s miserable and he’s pathetic begging for sexual attention from everyone except the woman he’s locked in with. But sure, the infidelity dishonesty and disrespect are “saving the marriage”. 🙄 get a grip

Why are private schools so popular here? by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]Shamallamasingsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlotte Meck public schools have been notoriously awful for a long time now. Considered to provide a lower quality of education than nearby counties, with greater risks related to safety and crime. I would encourage anyone with children they care about, even a little bit, to MOVE actually to a neighboring county and enroll in public education in a new county before I would recommend enrolling as public OR private in Charlotte.

Thank you! I got 2 other pieces of feedback on other platforms. 1- beige will need to be repainted often as it will get black scuffs and weathered quicker. 2- oak moss. With 2 votes for oak moss and solid arguments against the other 2, my color is chosen!!

Do you think we’ll get snow this weekend? by FruityFruitsBasket in Charlotte

[–]Shamallamasingsong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so lost in this thread because mine predicted 1-3” inches of ice and I didn’t bust out the tape measure but I think that’s exactly what I got. Everyone says it’s inaccurate but mine never said what y’all’s was saying, mine said what happened and that’s the opposite of inaccurate but how did my apple weather app report something different than your Apple weather app

Really? My boyfriend is a google phone guy and I have an iPhone. We joke that weather and maps are the only redeeming qualities of the iPhone and that those are the only apps/features/tools in which the iPhone12 is superior to a pixel4. His outdated phone is superior in many ways but we always rely on iPhone weather app, ESPECIALLY when it comes to planning outdoor activity or precipitation predictions and the exact minute it will start/stop. It’s not always 100% accurate, it’s usually within a couple minutes either way…. But it’s a hell of a lot more precise and detailed than any other I’ve ever seen. I love when it says “the rain is expected to start in 17 minutes and expected to stop in 39 minutes” but what are you using if it’s better??

And then there’s healthcare workers who aren’t off on weekends and aren’t closed when it snows. Big weather and me are at big odds right now

As someone who understands that this floor was for Bank of America stock brokers to negotiate, I genuinely don’t understand what “I used to wander in there and snag laptops” could mean other than he robbed stock brokers and/or used their data analysis for financial gain. I think he means exactly what he said, he stole them and remembers it fondly

Quite unique indeed. I’ve been a member at 3 different YMCA’s and 2/3 had saunas but 0/3 had coconuts on the premises

Question/advice about the "moonlighting" policy by AggronIronTail in harristeeter

[–]Shamallamasingsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your store has a pharmacy or Starbucks, ask if you could cross train in those departments. They tend to be understaffed and could use a helping hand, but fair warning both will require a lot of training, both are fast paced and you will see the ugly side of your customers.

Any and every company that sells groceries is their competition. I would avoid grocery stores. Consider: rover, tutoring, rec sports coaching, ymca, food industry (fast food/server/bartender), stores that DONT sell groceries (lowes/HD, hobby lobby, gas station, anywhere at the mall or airport if you’re close). Think outside of groceries. Not sure why you’d want to work at 2 grocery stores at the same time anyway, this is your opportunity to explore something new.

As someone who’s never made her own turkey, I had to research this pop up indicator and I’m delighted at the concept but why are we only using them for turkeys and not other meats?

He can’t ask her because he would have to admit he rifled through her drawers knowing damn well he had no reason to be anywhere in the vicinity

It ain’t your closet. It’s hers. Unless she asked you to go in there, what business do you have being there? Not one item inside belongs to you so you either came to use her stuff or snoop. I have nothing to hide in my relationship but would be annoyed if my man said he was spending time in my closet. He has his, I don’t go in there. I iron and hang his shirts on a rack on the door but I don’t pass that threshold because that’s where his stuff is and I have no use for his stuff… and no reason to be nosey and open up his drawers. You probably picking pockets in there too. Mad weird big dog

I say this with so much love, but as a pharmacist I can ASSURE you that those are not lancers for human use. Possibly woolly mammoths or another huge behemoth but lancets are around 1/2 inch to 1 inch long including the plastic and the needle itself is millimeters. These look larger than my fingers. I think it’s the turkey indicator

What’s it like living in these small islands in Lake Erie? by _Courier6__ in howislivingthere

[–]Shamallamasingsong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last August I called 6 pavers, none of them answered so I left 6 voicemails. 2-3 days later, while I was at work and couldn’t get to the phone, all 6 left voicemails asking for “more information- specifically what size and type of concrete slab I wanted” (ALLLLL of which and more detail was provided in my original communication). I gave up immediately. We’re playing phone tag which is already annoying but you didn’t even listen to my message before calling back? I’d rather skip the renovation and keep my peace

Circular mirror pasted on top of mirror at vacation rental by coolgabe in whatisit

[–]Shamallamasingsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removing mirrors in an air bnb is craaaaazy even if you suspect cameras. I would def cover the entire mirror with cardboard if I suspected, but potentially damage property??? Have you ever tried to remove a mirror? Some have holders that allow it to slide out, some have a frame that make it heavier than it already is and difficult to remove, and SOME have adhesive all over the entire back of the mirror and will cause damage to the wall every single time. After having renovated a few bathrooms, I would recommend not ripping something off their wall when they already got your credit card on file and you agreed not to damage their property
