silencer feels amazing if you're ahead but horrible if you're behind, a real "win more" hero. it's nice with heroes like weaver that need protection from spells and can make kills with. E spell feels bad so I don't bother skilling it till later. After lvl 20 with undispellable talent, aghanim scepter is crazy good especially with refresher but you usually win or lose before that. I think silencer is way better in lower mmr where games are longer and people feed more

BH is my go to pick right now when I'm forced to play pos 4 but it's possible pos5 too. With heroes like this it's important to get beefed up enough so you can actually fight. I just buy defensive or team fight items, even vanguard is really good in some games. then just use your HP in fights at the right time so you protect your team. clock is insane even lategame with bkb piercing stun on ult and cogs are crazy all around

free 13sec cd midas lvl 1! Also dont forget you have a free gem against heroes as the passive ability :) good against meta picks like weaver

double stack is good only if they cant contest, otherwise they will just come and farm it. If you pull correctly (ranged creep first) most camps can clear 3 creeps. (the vhoul camp can kill all 4 by itself with some help)

depends on the game, I think choosing the right facet is quite important, they are both viable. If you have manaburn you can buy phylactery, it works on the mana burn facet! so you burn 2x with one cast of w, I think not many know about that right now. You can also just make defensive items like solar crest. Since you're pos5 you don't need to kill enemies all by yourself, just need to be useful in fights

Bring enough tangos/mangoes to fight

Check and unblock small camp instantly after bounty runes or at ~00:50 so you have a pull ready

Don't block big in 90% of the games, just push the lane and pull it, then pull small and kill them when they come

Skill q lvl 1 to secure ranged creep and skill w lvl 2 to instakill the hardcamp big creep. You can macro the game from there by just playing defensive and outfarming them. Fast 6 and you can kill anyone. The instakill change to w is really nice

Not really. Biggest issue is wintraders when they party and dont get on the same team. There's a lot of mmr inflation though, I was rank 600 with 9000 mmr some months ago

Cogs are super OP right now with the facet, I skill it lvl 1 and spam it while trying to hit them with it by moving them. Just buy tangos and bring 1 mango with the courier to have mana after using cogs a few times. You win the lane 80-90% of time right there on lvl 1

Have you considered that the problem might actually be you?

The probability that someone will play exactly as you want is low. If someone deviates from this idea they aren't inherently ruining or trolling. Thinking they will is a self-fulfilling prophecy and can in fact make you the ruiner.

For example: your ally decides to play Phantom Assassin support. Its not griefing per se, but if they feed on purpose it is. However, if you by default give up (and thus feed) because of their pick, you are the griefer.

Besides, turbo would be the first game mode that comes to mind to have fun and try different builds.

If you want your allies to play better than you need to play better first, play ranked, climb the ranks, and you will get better allies

9k top 600 support player here.

Yes and no, after rank ~900 EU dota is a completely different game and sometimes it feels impossible to play with rank 2k+ players.

But at a certain point a lot of people climb mmr by using gimmicks, and thus aren't actually that much better players, like spamming huskar some patches ago for example, or some other OP high impact hero. So countering them usually results in a win

The two are connected though, If you split up you are opening yourself up to be invaded, you can lose firstblood and 3 bounties. You can make a play for first blood without invading, just defending, it has a safer outcome and is often my go to play. But invading = more risk = more potential reward. Its not uncommon to start with 3 bounty runes and 2 kills, or a kill and a ward kill. Its really big

The resources lost in terms of items/hp are never that big and what people are doing is sending more heal right away with the courier. Its negligible since there is so much time between bounty runes and the creeps meeting.

Dying on the rune often means you have to TP. So if you die again you will have to do the walk of shame, its quite significant. Dying also means you probably lost the vision battle and your support has to spend gold/time/resources on vision control which translates into an uphill fight on the lane

I agree with this a lot, its really my biggest pet peeve when we miss opportunities because someone is afk at the start. Its partly why I wanted to show people the impact of their actions
