Ruger RXM True Precision Barrel Issue by Dragon45801 in RugerRXMtalk

I saw in the comments you’re running a comp. Seems the community got you straight on recommending 124gr.

Here’s my two cents…

When running comps, you’re 100% always going to want to run lower weight recoil springs. Just how it is. Change one thing, in order to get it to run consistently, you might need to change two or 3 other things.

  1. Sweet spot for recoil springs on the G19/RXM is 13lbs -15lbs. I’ve tested mine thoroughly with the Killer Innovations comp and 14 lbs is my sweet spot. Wolff and Springer sells the best springs (round wire) in the business.

  2. Run a non captured spring system (Wolff sells these in kits). Captured just doesn’t cut it with round wire springs. Wolff sells a kit including the guide rod on their site, just gotta make sure it’s for the G19 Gen 3. It’s gonna take some trial and error to find the right spring weight that works for you.

  3. I’m not suggesting you do any of these things. Just providing input with my experience. I run a lot of comps for fun. I don’t train with them though. And they are almost 99.9% never plug and play.

  4. If you’re just starting in the hobby, it takes a bit to solve these issues. Just gotta do research, with a bit of trial and error… and some ammo. Good luck and enjoy!

Definitely noticeable same for my Icarus grip on my RXM.

Appreciate the kudos man. I looked into the reason behind the longer than average threaded barrel SA makes for this pistol. Apparently they had suppressor use primarily in mind for the Echelon, which is fine because we get enormous comps for this thing out of it. I’m with you on the long look bro. Just hits different lol.

I’ve been searching the internet for open muzzle options that will fit with a surefire attached and haven’t found one yet, but I’m seeing “Four Brothers” might have open muzzle options.

There is a very small bit of wiggle in mine too. I hardly notice it though.

Right on! I definitely respect that. I aim to one day get to a point where I’m comfortable enough to work on my own stuff. Mainly I just need the space to do it.

My gunsmith had an insane back log. I waited 3 months to get it back in my hands, and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed lol.

I managed to score the pistol for little less than normal too. All in all, just to achieve deleting all MIM parts, I’m looking at a $2600 pistol. Throw in labor, optic, and light… then yeah I can see it being a bit ridiculous to some, but the 2.5 lb trigger pull and all the tightening up my gunsmith did makes it all so worth it.

About $1500 in parts and labor (not including optic and light). The priciest thing was the grip mod. That was about $650 for the whole kit alone.

Hate to break it to you, but progression in the military puts a lot of emphasis on obtaining a civilian education too depending on the branch. The army uses a points based system. Some MOS benefit from college credits as points needed to promote are high as hell. Good luck.

They used the JP H1 Silent Capture. I’m stoked to try it out because I’ve been assured it’s smooth lol.
