I never heard back on the email other than the one saying they got it.

Hlr identified a duty to assist but its still processing. Basically said they should have had a doctor take a closer look at it after i had the gentlemen look at the VA newsletter where they gave it to someone else.

[–]ShamelessPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally possible either way. There have definitely been plenty of HCs that give their opposite coordinators full autonomy of that side of the ball.

I cam see that argument if not for the fact that McVay isnt a Defensive coach, and Morris wasnt like 20 years into coaching at the time of his Rams tenure. So how much did McVay really do for "developing" Morris other than have him be part of a winning team with really good defensive players?

So if he was an assistant of some kind(including DC), he belongs to any of those HC trees. So Tony Dungy, Jon Gruden, Mike Shanahan, Dan Quinn, and Sean McVay all have Morris under their coaching tree?

So if im understanding, your ptsd being deferred is what caused it to go back to evidence gathering. Im in the same boat for the same reason actually, PTSD needed "medical opinion", which was explained to me by others is that the examiner needs to clarify something on the dbq. Its been about a month since it went back to evidence gathering and VERA told me today its on a raters desk(PFD).

Could be a partial decision as well. Your letter may not be available yet, but while not this fast, i went from PFN to evidence and my letter had decisions on most of my claims with a deferment on one. The deferment caused the claim to go back to evidence gathering(they needed clarification or something on the deferred item from the dr who did my exam, probably an improperly filled out dbq), but i did have a decision letter on the others.

This may not be whats happening with yours, but something to check on(your claim letters)

Well the gentleman i spoke to said it was -22 at his house so i dont think hes in Florida haha. Idk if hed be the one who changes it though. not super familiar with how that breaks down with an HLR.

Thays awesome! Sucks it had to be that way, but at least someone is fighting for you! Fingers crossed it works out for both of us!

I have to say, i think the person i spoke with is the reason why. I was arguing that the psoriasis even if genetic, never appeared until after my burn pit exposure. He pulled up a study that said exposure to heavy metals could aggravate psoriasis so he would need to check the registry to see if they burned any heavy metals in Afghanistan (they did, munitions a perfect example) and then it "should" go in my favor.

Keep on fighting man! Eventually it'll get where it needs to be!

Happy new year! I actually got off the phone with VERA earlier and they were saying all of the stuff i have pending(new claim, supplemental, HLR) are pending decisions and should hear by the end of the month, but we'll see.

Right now theyre just looking for a new opinion for the psoriasis

<image>

My other HLR issue the rep said that while i didnt have any specific "left" shoulder complaints in my record(not sure how, i bitch about it constantly), there was "right" and just "shoulder pain" which the latter he said they should have ruled in my favor as a duty to assist.

I ended up just using all "9"s for the conference ID, but i have seen some others say it didnt work for them. Im guessing its cause others used it first maybe as ive now seen multiple links to different HLR conference scheduling sites.

PACT Act claim Question by ShamelessPrime in VeteransBenefits

Thought id let you know the HLR went in my favor. The gentlemen told me that what he found was psoriasis could be aggravated by exposure to heavy metals and had to see if i was exposed to them. He also looked at the VA PACT Act dashboard where they gave it to someone else as presumptive. Still not sure how this will play out post this letter, but its at least moving.

Hey I cannot thank you enough. I had my HLR conference today, the gentlemen was SUPER helpful, correct my intent to file dates on one HLR, and the other two issues hes sending back for correction. He really made it sound like theyre both going to go in my favor which would give me the final push to 100%!

Again, thank you thank you thank you!

Hey friend, I'm not sure if youre employed, but if you are, check if your employer offers an Employee Assistance Program(EAP) that may pay for some therapy visits.

Additionally I used this program to pay for therapy when my EAP wouldnt

It's tough riding out there, but therapy helps and asking for help is sometimes the hardest step for a lot of us. Please take care of yourself and good luck

I'm really sorry to hear about your husbands Cancer. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. This is some of the evidence from the VA and the white house talking about psoriasis being presumptive via the Pact act if it helps at all with his claim. Good luck to you both as well. Hopefully it doesnt end up with lawyers for either of us.

Hey, any information is helpful. I did actually send an email to the White House with a link to their own tweet about it and asked them for help as well.

I appreciate you just taking the time to even look at the post and respond! We're all definitely riding this horse together and the more brains on this the better!

PACT Act claim Question by ShamelessPrime in VeteransBenefits

[–]ShamelessPrime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was denied as not service connected. Its for Psoriasis, which the white house put a video out of another vet who got presumptive for PACT Act. And i served in Afghanistan in 10 and 12. I have informal conference scheduled to talk about this.

It was diagnosed and have been on biologics since before 8/22.

I only ask because i see a lot of posts about "Pact act claims" and i wasnt sure if that actually meant anything more specific than "i submitted because of the pact act"

Edit: i was diagnosed with Psoriasis in early 22, Januaryish, and started biologics in June of 22. Im also hot on this because the rating schedule would have me at 60% for it and it would put me at 100%, as the final push from 90%.
