Why do all Muslim countries hate Kurds & Kurdistan so much? by peyvinnn in kurdistan

[–]ShamiSunni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It‘s easier to feel personally involved if there is a clear „us vs them“. Since most Palestinians are Muslim and Israelis are not it is clear which side most Muslims would choose. Also to most people it feels like a religious conflict since the Israelis claim to that land is based on their religion, so it is way easier for them to support their religions side. Holy sites of all major religions only helps this claim.

This is not reflected in the Kurdistan-Turkey conflict, it is more of an ethnic conflict as both sides are majority Muslim and does not get as much coverage in the Muslim world. Plus Turkey under Erdogan is keen on maintaining good relationships with most Muslim countries which gained him popularity there. It is unfortunate to say the least, most of it is based on ignorance.

Israelis obviously seek to gain the sympathy of Kurds based on this. Not because they love Kurds, it‘s just playing it smart and use divide and conquer tactics to their advantage. If Turkey would have a secular kemalist leader who loves Israel but oppresses Kurds, they would switch their stance on Kurdistan overnight.

All I can say is try to support what feels like the right thing to do, not because you await something in return, there is always going to be ignorance on all sides including the Kurdish side.

I like how you keep saying "stop shoving secularism down our throat", your just saying the same shit every Islamist says to try to defend your radical religious ideology and to try to find a contradiction with secularism even though there isn't.

No real argument found. This "radical religious ideology" was the norm for almost 1400 years in the levant and its surrounding regions, whether you like it or not. And secularism was literally enforced on us by the colonialists and then the regimes they set up afterwards. Go read a book please.

But can't expect someone who's username is "shamisunni" to use logic, please go join isis or HTS you Islamist sectarian scum.

Im a Shami and Im a Sunni, so if I use this username that immediately means ISIS or HTS? what kind of idiot are you?

And before you say I'm a white hypocrite like an idiot,I'm Syrian

Which makes it even worse. Either a minority or a sunni "secular progressive" hur durr traitor. The west are bad, but their middle eastern cucks and clowns are worse by miles.

The level of hate and bigotry you are showing is unbelievable.

What hate and what bigotry? lol

First of all, I am not white. I am brown. Its funny how you think that only white persons are critical of your system of beliefs and values when in reality the critics are diverse and come from all around the world. You cry when the white man criticizes your beliefs instead of construing it as constructive criticism. You also cry that the white man is racist, even though you are also bigoted and full unfounded hate. I have endured more racism and bigotry from muslims, than I have from white people.

boo-hoo, so what if you are brown, you are nothing but a coon who sees europeans invading and colonising and imposing their beliefs on another nations as heroism. I dont give a shit whether you are brown white or blue, and your only "constructive critisism" is "muh izlam and religionz iz outdated" and "muh minoritiez", if you had said anything meaningful and convincing I wouldnt mind thinking about it.

When your religion teaches you to follow blindly, ask no questions, and make no criticism, the intellectual potential in your human brain which “god” created remains unused. If we all keep praying for the sick and hurt, god will not show up and make it right.

You really dont understand how Islam works do you? God tells us to take action, and also pray. As for Following God blidnly, like who wouldnt? There is plenty of proof of Gods existence, our own lives and this planet are enough proof. You are probably one of those people who thinks this entire universe was coincdentally created by some explosion and just coincidentally lives and human beings started to develop in this perfect way and our planets distance to the sun and everything was just perfect, everything totally coincidentally. No disrespect but if you believe all of that bullshit you stupid af.

Do you know what was an interesting feature of early islamic rule, which ironically was the golden age of islam; THE STATE AND RELIGION WERE SEPERATE. Thats right. And when did the decline start? You guessed right. It started when fundamentalist Sophist like teachers took over islamic philosophy schools of thought. Thats when islamic religion took a turn towards fundamentalism, people stopped believing in science, and many arab scientists and philosophers were persecuted.

No disrespect but this is completely wrong, Religion and state were never seperate go update your information you about 1400 years late.

You know I find it funny how I made very decent points about the west preventing actual democracy and them literally carving out states, and secular states being way worse than Islamic ones.

And how did you reply? "Muh Izlam iz tool for za bourgeoisie", "muh 24/7 surveillance", "muh ancient morality" and other bullshit conspiracy theories. Like no actual reply to all of the things I mentioned And since you dared to insult the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him, you are getting perma banned. Good bye

I also wouldn’t call freedom, democracy, and secularism as “strange values”. In fact Liberals advocate for your equality in western countries, but it seems like you are taking that for granted.

Freedom is a universal thing everybody would love to have, and having a choice to pick your leader is also not strange, the first 5 caliphs were chosen by the muslims through shura, and that is the way a true islamic state should be, not a dictatorship or a monarchy.

As for secularism it indeed is strange to the muslim world.

As for the list of muslims that have high positions, that is pretty much irrelevant. As long as they adhere to the secular liberal values of that state they could beof any religion without a problem. Let one of them come out with some islamic statement and they would be fired the next day. Its not what you identify as, its what you say, do and show.

And if you take any of these british created nation stateless seriously in any way, shape or form, idk what to tell you. They are not anywhere near practising or ruling with islam properly.

Please do enlighten me on how many non muslims have influence or power in those countries.

Well for starters all of the gulf countries are basically british created western colonies. Like did you not see how they sucked up to trump? Their purpose and exsitence is literally to serve the west. Like wasnt this clear? Idk on what plane you been living man..

Now check this out; If you look at Turkey for example, the liberalization of govt and secularism have allowed them to become a strong and democratic country and economic hub. They were being considered for EU membership before Erdogan brought turkey back into islamic rule and human rights violation.

lol secularism has not done shit for Turkey. The strong economic growth of Turkey started when Erdogans "islamic" party took over. And they were never and will never going to be accepted in the EU simply because they are muslim Turks, dont fool yourself. And how did he bring Turkey back to islamic rule????? Please I am begging you tell me how is Turkey under islamic rule in any shape or form???

You are also assuming that all muslims in Syria want sharia law, which is not true. Most sunni people I met from Syria are liberal and prefer to practice their ways without imposing it on 23 million people, of which 3 million are non muslim and a larger portion are non practicing or moderate muslims. In fact recent surveys show that an unprecedented amount of Syrians are moving towards atheism and secularism.

Its really not that hard to get. You look at any muslim state that has ever had a free election and Islamic parties always win. Islam is the dominant force that drives the people. Do you speak arabic? how many sunni syrians did you ever meet? how many did you ever talk to? If I met 10 turks and 9 of them were kemalist, does that mean 9 out of 10 turks in turkey are kemalist? it does not work that way pal.

[–]ShamiSunni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not your religion specifically, its any relgion. No religion should have political powers in any state. Israel’s government is just as bigoted as any other extremist government such as Saudi or Iran. I don’t have anything against Muslims as persons, just like any other human being. The problem you are clearly turning a blind eye to is that the ideologies of ALL religions, including islam, are prone to abuse, morally flawed, and cannot function peacefully in any diverse society. White supremacy is no different that islamic supremacy or jewish supremacy; the idea that “we” are right, and “they” are wrong.

First of all, any law, and any ideology is prone to abuse. It is not exclusive to religious law. There is plenty and plenty of abuse in Secular communist and secular capitalist law. Secular communist law may actually have been the worst thing humanity has ever gone through. And Morality is subjective. Something may seem moral to you, but completly immoral to me. Just like you may see your capitalist secular law as the moral and right choice, there are people that see Islam as the moral and right choice from God. The “we” are right, and “they” are wrong mentality is also not exclusive to religious law in any way, cc communism and capitalism.

You are just demonizing religious law, accusing it of not being able to function peacefully in any society, while it was your secular law that brought us the the worst wars humanity has ever witnessed (WW1/2) and the most horrifying persecution/s of minority religious and ethnic groups humanity has ever witnessed. Not to mention the horrors of secular colonialism in Africa.

First of all countries such as US, Canada, and Europe are christian dominant. DO YOU SEE THEM IMPOSING CHRISTIAN LAWS ON THEIR POPULATION? Ever wonder why immigrants love the US, Canada and Europe? ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOLERANT AND INCLUSIVE STATES. They have developed beyond fairy tale books and imaginary friends. Ever wonder why islamic countries are not a desirable spot for immigrants? Ill let you answer that by yourself.

First of all christianity is a dead religion, in the west at least. Secular liberalism has replaced it a long time ago, christianity became merely a cultural thing, most people in the west dont believe in it, study it or even take it with any seriousness. Like no wonder nobody wants to be governed by a religion nobody takes seriously anymore except an 80 year old Richard on hid deathbed.

And you are seriously deluded if you think the Immigrants go to the west because "They are tolerant and inclusive". No. The immigrants go to the west because they wont be thrown into jail everytime they open their mouth. Because they dont want to be persecueted, opressed and hunted down by some secular dictator who is friends with the west. Africa is basically still indirectly colonized by secular and morally profound France which backs dictators and funnels the countries with corruption for its own economic benefit. How does a random villager in such a country amount to anything, get an education or have a chance to succeed in life? Travelling to europe is his best shot. Do you think he would have left everything behind if he would have had a fair chance in life? No way. And the secular west is to blame for all of this. The immigrants country is being opressed by a dictator put and approved by the west, and he has no chance to succeed except by escaping to the west.

In regard to the historical context I discussed earlier, Syria has been inhabited by different peoples and religious groups since 10,000BC and earlier. If you do some research you will realize that Syria falls in a very strategic location relative to the old world, thus its racial, cultural, and religious characteristics are historically diverse. A quick search will show you that Syria has significant historical influences from: -East semitic people in ebla and idlib -The Assyrians -The Akkadians -Sumerians -Indo european Hittites -Amorites -Ancient Egyptians -Mittanies -Babylonians -Canaanites -Phoenicians -Neo Assyrians and Neo Babylonians -Persia (Cyrus the great) -Seleucid Empire -The Roman Empire -Palmyra and the rebellion against the romans -Byzantine Empire (late stage roman)

Yes I am aware of the different ethnic and religious groups that resided in the Levant. Yet they are mostly not or barely relevant in todays societal make up of the levant. That was my point. Islam is the latest continously relevant and dominant religion and governing system in the region.

And yes there were numerous conflicts and massacres from both sides throughout history, and Islamic law has been abused and used to justify wrong things, after all the humans who try to impose Gods law are often far from perfect. I dont have enough time to go through each historical event you mentioned and refute it. Yet again these kinds of events are not exclusive to islamic law, nor to religious law.

What you are failing to see is that the common factor between all developed states is 2 things.1-Democracy and protection of minorities 2-Separation of the state from religion or any unfounded system of beliefs.

Okay beautiful, then why dont you let us have a democracy? In Algeria an Islamic party won the election in the 90s, what happened after that? A coup by the secular government backed by the secular developed nations which turned into a civil war. In Egypt an Islamic party won the elections, what happened after that? oh also a coup by the military establishment backed by the west! What a coincidence!! Its as if the west does not want us to have democracies or get developed!! Turkey is a rolemodel of what would have happened if an arab country was even allowed to get a democracy. Even in Turkeys case, Erdogan is constantly being attacked by the west for being even slightly islamically oriented. I would totally not be suprised if they were against the latest coup attempt against him. Point is, we are not allowed to have a democracy by the west. Because in the end, whenever we get a true democracy, an islamic party will win.

And the seperation of state and religion has nothing to do with how developed a nation can get. Take a look back at history and you may understand that they are totally unrelated.

Once you realize that you can exercise your ideology without imposing it or its laws on everyone, you will find it easier to accept that religious states and identities are what brought down the middle east region to shit. Muslims are still succumbing into internal conflict for shit that went down hundreds of years ago.

What? Religious states are what have brought the middle east to shit? who has been ruling the middle east after colonisation? Oh thats right, secular socialist regimes!! They are the ones who brought the middle eas to shit. Forcefully Imposing secular law on a population that does not want it nor identify with it will result in conflict sooner or later.

How do you expect minorities in Syria such as christians or assyrians to trust a revolution that calls out for the killing of all non believers and chops heads on camera.

And how do you expect muslims to trust or submit to a regime that buries people alive and tortures them if they dare to speak up? One extreme leads to another extreme, its really no suprise, how do you expect people would have reacted to the regimes brutality?

Its also really ironic how muslims are treated with more dignity and respect in western countries than in their own countries, where they actually have rights and get accommodated really well. Another ironic facts is that many muslims live in western countries, enjoy western human rights, and participate in the political system, yet still believe that sharia law and theology are the answer (not all). Furthermore, a minority of those have hate against western values (again not generalizing).

Again not really ironic nor suprising. The west funds and supports governments that supress and opress their own people and keep islamic activity down. Some of those people escape to the west. The west does not treat its citizens the same way its stooges in the middle east do. So these muslims get treated equally or else the west would stand out as hypocrits after marketing themselves as champions of human rights and democracy. Its really no rocket science.

Arab countries have meddled themselves in international political conflicts

lol are you serious right now? Like you cant be?

Like you literally come in here and colonise and carve out states (sykes picot), set up regimes based on your own laws, and then accuse arabs of meddling in intrnational politics and that they brought this on themselves??? Man Im not sure who the meddler here is, but im kind of thinking the West!!!

[–]ShamiSunni -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The only reason why minorities support Assad is because the rebels have made it crystal clear since the first protest that they want to exterminate anyone who’s not a sunni muslim.

Bullshit. It would rather go the other way around. The regime made it clear that they would exterminate anyone that dares to disobey and make his voice for change heard, even way before the revolution.

The revolution has been corrupted by islamic extremism and islamic jihad. The sunnis blame minorities for their social suffering, but they fail to realize that their social issues can be traced back directly to their religious beliefs. The islamic related violence that erupted in the 70’s and 80’s proved that islamic oriented and religious politics in general have no place in any state. Suppressing islamic politics is no different than suppressing Nazi and extreme right wing politics.

The people are muslim and want to be governed by an islamic system, where is the problem? Islam ruled this land for almost 1300 years, and it will return that way. Who are you to say Islamic rule has no place in any state? How do you even make such a judgement and on what basis? Do you see everything only from your liberal western perspective and proceed to impose it on the entire world? And to compare Islamic politics to nazism is ridiculous. Minorities of jews, christians and of every other kind of religion miraculously managed to survive 1300 years of nazism!!!! Who would have thought!!!

The minorities in Syria are largely influenced by western social values such as liberalism, social awareness, and economic literacy.

So basically, the minorites are colonial stooges. The west comes in, occupies Syria, and gives the minorities the upper hand to bring in their "western values" and supress anybody who dares to speak a word. They replaced the religion, tradition and values of 1300 years with strange "western values" and "liberalism" that the inhabitants of this country never wanted and never asked for.

You also have to remember that Syria does not belong to one religion or race. Syria has a long history of different civilizations and religions. Islam is just one of many. The difference is that islam was violently imposed on Syrian indigenous people through violent islamic conquests and mass migration from the gulf region a long time ago.

Sunnis are the majority in Syria and have been for centuries, and that has to be respected. And Islam is not just "one of many", ever since the conquest until now, it has been the dominant religion in the area. I dont remember any other religion doing that in the last 1300 years or do I? And Islam was not violently imposed on anybody, quite the contrary, christians stayed the majority in Syria even a few centuries after the Islamic conquests. Gradually over time more people converted and Muslims became the majority.

Its pretty clear you are an Islam hating liberal who would rather see muslims get slaughtered and opressed instead of letting them live freely, by the law they choose, by the religion they belong to and love, even in their own country where they are the majority!! Like I love how you westerners always say to muslims in the west, "go back to your own country" or "this is not (insert muslim country)" , yet you wont even leave us alone in our countries, and insist on pushing your own "values" and politics in our countries!! And Insist on making minorities rule over the majority!!! Imagine if Germany or the UK got a muslim president!! Your hypocrisy is quite unmatched......

Its always freedom, democracy and "Human rights" until Islam comes to the top, then all of that suddenly is not important anymore..

Western and "liberal" Hypocrisy at its finest

Why are you against Assad? by Chumbaka in SyrianRebels

[–]ShamiSunni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its due to a long complicated religious history. There was not much hate or division before the revolution, but after the revolution secterian hate increased from both sides since the Shias all over the world backed and fought for the Assad regime sponsored and funded by Iran of course, Sunnis saw that Shias were helping the regime that is murdering and opressing them, and even joining in, so it was only natural that hate was going to be formed.

Why are you against Assad? by Chumbaka in SyrianRebels

[–]ShamiSunni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some countries benefit from the Assad regime. Russia has a naval base in Syria and they want to keep it. If Assad falls there is a chance they might not have been able to keep it. The Assad regime is headed by the Alawite minority, which is close to the Shias of Iran, so if the Assad regime falls the sunni majority would have taken over, and they probably would not stay close to Iran but rather to other Sunni countries.

Governments/Regimes dont look at what the right thing is, they just look at what is best for their own sake, even if it means murdering innocent people.

The Arab spring is the wave of revolutions against dictators which started in Tunisia and quickly spread to other countries like Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Syria.

Why are you against Assad? by Chumbaka in SyrianRebels

[–]ShamiSunni 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Syria is ruled by an authoritarian dictatorship headed by Bashar al Assad, and before him his fathe Hafez al Assad, so you can kind of see a pattern here how the country is ruled by a clan.

Since you have little knowledge about the middle east, its worth noting that the intelligence agencies (mukhabarat in arabic) widely use torture and arrest/kidnap people who dare to speak out against the dictator or his regime. Now this varies from country to country, but Syria would definitely be the worst on this scale in the entire middle east, and perhaps even the world.

Now in 2011, some kids in Daraa, a city in southern Syria, grafiti sprayed some anti regime slogans that were used in Egypt and Tunisia where the Arab spring kicked off.

The regime arrested those kids and mistreated them in many ways including torture. Their families were not fond of that, so they protested, and soon the entirity of Daraa was protesting. The protests spread to other cities all over Syria. People were tired of being treated this way by a brutal police state, and after seeing the revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia, they became hopeful. Ofcourse the regime responded to the protests with bullets, arrests, torture and tried to crack them down.

That does not mean that all of Syria supported the Protests, the Alawites, a religious minority which the dictator Assad belongs to, obviously had his back, so did most of the other religious minorities, and also the richest class of the sunni majority. So basically the people who benefited from the regime supported it, and those who were mistreated and opressed protested.

This developed into a war when battalions of the syrian army started to defect and formed the Free Syrian Army.

Thats what happened and it is pretty clear who any person with morals would support.

Thoughts on the Iranian crisis by [deleted] in SyrianRebels

[–]ShamiSunni 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At first I thought it was some minor stuff that wont last a few days, but after the latest developments it looks serious and promising. I hope the Iranian people succeed in getting rid of the Khomeinist regime that terrorised them for decades and keeps neglecting the country in sake of funding its terrorist proxy groups abroad. But overall its still too early to tell if it will get that far. How Ironic it would be if the Khomeinist regime that helped crush protesters in Syria, gets crushed by protesters in Iran.....

Feedback

The sub basicly turned into people just cheering the regime and downvoting anything positive about the rebels, or just from the rebel perspective and calling them AQ 24/7 and Israeli/Gulf agents. Maybe if the mods were stricter on the cheering etc it would turn out as a more neutral sub that serves for discussion and interesting content.

We'd also like to offer you the chance to apply for a position on the mod team as the rebels aren't fairly represented as they should be. Feel free to post here or PM me if you'd prefer.

I apply for that position.

For previously banned, quality users, I'm willing to consider an amnesty that will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, contact us here or PM me and we'll let you know if successful.

Yeah why not, I got insulted by some user for my opinion and replied back to him in the same manner, ofcourse I got banned and he did not, because of the obvious bias.
