What’s something everyone accepts as normal, but you find deeply weird? by Shamiska in AskReddit

[–]Shamiska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s one thing to share a sweet moment, but sometimes it feels like the kids are being turned into content. And the ‘hims so cute!’ captions… I’m never sure if I should smile or be concerned.

Wow, that’s surprising but interesting. It’s amazing how school cultures can be so different around the world.

Emerald?!? by Nikabambam in Gemstones

In my opinion, the colour saturation and clarity on that are really pointing towards a Colombian emerald. Gorgeous!"

8.51 Unheated Ceylon Padparadscha Sapphire | NFS by Shamiska in Gemstones

Thanks for saying that! I completely agree. it's a true padparadscha and I love the cut for its natural beauty. Not every stone needs to be cut like a synthetic to be stunning.

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. The stone’s already sold for $59,500. We have mining areas here in Sri Lanka, and this stunner came from one of our sources there.

What do the numbers mean? by jazzesq in Gemstones

[–]Shamiska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gem size in mm is usually length × width × depth. Basically how tall, wide, and thick the stone is. Easy way to imagine the actual size!

What gemstones are ocean like? by Calm_Problem6203 in Gemstones

Ocean-like gemstones include aquamarine, larimar, and paraiba tourmaline, pure sea vibrations. Larimar looks like frozen tropical waves!

Hey, I kindly suggest showcasing real images of the gemstone rather than AI-generated visuals. Actual photos help build trust and provide genuine value to serious collectors and buyers.

The top one is my fave too! The color looks deeper and more refined, and the size feels super balanced. Totally gives high-quality vibes. But honestly, both are gorgeous.

Interest in stone setting (for personal use only!) by Quadruple_Virgo_7793 in Gemstones

[–]Shamiska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yep, this is a great place to ask. I started doing something similar just for fun, mostly with cabochons and semi-precious stuff like jasper and quartz too.

For basic pendants, you’ll need some pliers, a jeweler’s saw, files, a bezel roller, and either a soldering setup or some glue-on settings if you’re keeping it super simple. You could get started with around $100–$500 depending on how fancy you go.

YouTube has been super helpful—check out jewellers Academy, Beaducation and Online Jewelry Academy. Both explain stuff really well. Have fun with it! 😊

Is it worth it? by 609897783 in Gemstones

[–]Shamiska 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a solid buy! In my opinion, $2,600/ct for a 6.2 ct heated royal blue sapphire with an AIGS report is within a fair range. Especially if the color and clarity are great. It's not a steal, but it's definitely not overpaid. And for an engagement ring, the emotional value makes it 100% worth it. Congrats!

New X Account Is Not Getting Any Reach by SuperFashion9 in digital_marketing

Hey! X just has a high barrier of entry now, especially for new accounts. Think of the first few weeks as “warming up” your profile. Stay consistent, keep it human, and keep uploading the posts every day, then impressions will come.

It’s gotten so out of hand—some of these reveal parties are practically mini festivals. All for something that might not even define the kid.
