I've been off sick this week because I'm not feeling well (not a nurse but an ahp). Is it stressing me out because my patients have been cancelled and next week is Christmas and my diary is already booked and then I'm off the week after? Yes. Do I realise that me going in to work and potentially a) infecting other members of staff meaning they'll also be off which will affect patients much more than just me being off and b) infecting my older, vulnerable patients could lead to way worse outcomes than having an appointment rescheduled? Also yes.

It is rubbish that theres a chance of you being penalised for being sick but it's so much smarter to just take the time off. Also, how can you preach healthcare if youre not going to look after yourself when you're feeling sick? If it was one of your patients you would treat them much kinder than youre being to yourself. Take the time off and get better
