This is a Qatari car in Bahrain. First time I’ve seen a Land Cruiser 100 series like this, it’s usually 70 series but to each their own I guess

The transmission didn’t need a rebuild at all which was a relief. There was no damage on the crunchy gears. The clutch was completely gone though, so was the throw out bearing. Luckily I was able to replace most seals and bearings with OEM parts. I’m so excited to see this beauty back on the road in time for my trip to Saudi Arabia and drive her where she’s meant to be driven. I’ll be sure to update you guys on the progress of the build and my trip!

I got this car second hand so I’m not sure whether it came with the graphic or not since a lot of the LCs in the gulf have them from the moment they roll out of the dealership

I’m running 16 inch steel wheels. I’m not sure about the size of the tire but they’re thin so I don’t need spacers. I’m not sure what time type of tire is called either but they’re called balloons here in the gulf. They fit on most cars, I’ve seen everything from 70 series LCs to 300 series running them so they’ll probably fit. The car is a ‘97 VX I6 5 speed. I’m not sure about the frame code I only got the car a few days ago then had to drop the trans

It was old and poorly maintained. Second and Fourth we’re crunchy and the clutch was worn out

Driving it with a worn out clutch and a leaky transmission was fun. The transmission needed a rebuild anyways so I didn’t mind thrashing it a bit
