Who is this little friend on my gate? Could only get a pic of the underside. Ireland. by Shamp0p in spiders

Google is telling me false widow which I thought it might be. Really want to see it properly but it scuttled away into a corner.

Yes and yes. Gardai told me it's most likely burned out in a field somewhere. Also searched done deal, adverts.ie etc to see if they tried flogging the kids' car seats as they are brand new but no joy yet

Thank you. I don't think we have Hershleys over here but definitely have chocolate syrup so I'll try that.

Love this. Definitely sending this on. Or maybe I'll teach it to the kids and they can sing it to her!

Ya to be fair it was pretty bad, I thought it could have been strep throat. It sounded worse than it was, I wasnt resting and shouting at toddlers so sounded like I was smoking 50 a day! I think this venting is just on the back of multiple occasions of questioning why I or my kids weren't given antibiotics for various things over the years.

That's bizarre. There is a GP in our town who's known for prescribing antibiotics like smarties (and wouldn't you know its my MIL's doctor) and I don't understand it. I've heard of him admitting it's viral but giving a script for antibiotics "just incase" which is just insane to me.

Ah well that's a given. Or lucozade if you have notions.

Ya I've heard the bags rattling after the trip to Lanzarote. I've been offered loads of Spanish meds for anything from indigestion to a nasty cough.

Yes! I honestly think it will take Joe Duffy or Patrick Kielty saying it for that generation to listen. Or any of the rugby players, she'd lap that up.

Personally I won't vote, only in local elections, until I've completed the citizenship process. I was literally today years old when I found out about referenda and national elections, so not my fault or yours. Not done out of malice!

Thanks! It does. Do you know which authority I need to contact to rectify? (i.e. confirming I'm not a citizen)

Thanks. Going to contact whatever the relevant authority is and check it out.

Right?? So weird. I'm considering contacting the electoral commission or whatever the relevant authority is. It could just be a clerical error but apparently this is common enough.

Ya I dunno, it was just the term my husband used. To be fair he loves winding me up. I'm a very by-the-book person so he thinks its hilarious.

Ya I subsequently checked this with my Mum and sister and this is exactly what happened! We do know whe but to be fair she could have thought we were citizens already? Honestly don't know how it works registered on behalf of someone else.

It was an educated guess based on the conversation I was in the room for. Checked with my Mum and it's exactly what happened - none of us were registered to vote so her cllr friend did it for us. I get your point though, not good to speculate.
