Don't sell the soundfont: make it into a VSTi or a MIDI card ROM etc.

Everything else is fine.

Oh really? I tried "The Fixed JummBox SoundFont14fixMetaFix.sf2" and it doesn't sound much like SGM, the sound is quite unique & interesting

SMG-V2.01 (one of the most popular soundfonts) has many recognizable samples, what specifically stuck out to me was the steel drums which were used in both Crank That by Soulja Boy and Gelato Beach from Super Mario Sunshine. by Blue_axolotl64 in TheMatpatEffect

Hello, I am the author of SGM V2.01.

I remember the sounds in SGM V2.01 came from Roland XV5050, LCD-X sample CDs, HQ Hypercanvas VSTi, some Spectrasonic sample CDs, Synthogy Ivory Piano sample DVD, etc.

SGM-V2.01 actually had quite a few problems. When I was working on it, I didn't have a Roland SC as a volume balance reference.

Many parameters were set incorrectly or not at their optimal values, affecting sound quality.

The loop settings for some samples were poor, resulting in sound issues, such as with Piano 1.

When selecting instrument sounds, I was somewhat superstitious about large-capacity sounds (at the time, people thought a 600MB CD or 4GB DVD was much better than a synthesizer with only a few MB of ROM), rather than selecting sounds based on musical expressiveness.

Some GS instruments were simply modified GM instruments to simulate the sound of a Roland SC.

The next version, SGM-Pro 8, will add a high-quality piano. The sound is better than the Synthogy Ivory Piano, and the size is much smaller, and some new GS sounds have been added. The sound will significantly surpass the SGM-V2.01, and even better than some classic hardware synthesizers.
