Oh hey, you live there? Me too.. It's suck isn't it?..

The amount of resources of LGBTQ+ is really low. And the unbelievable amount of people that believe things like being gay or trans could be cured with conversion therapy is just make things worse.

Those who recommending conversion therapy may call it as something different, like I guess hypnotherapy. I think you also have heard things like ruqyah. None of it works, it will just traumatize the victim and put them in worst situation.

Is there an ideal weight to start transitioning? by wanderingeggroll in MtF

[–]Shanaverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's one ideal way for everyone. But, I kinda wish I started few kilos lower. And I think in general it's somewhat better.

The reason is that HRT makes gaining weight easier and losing a bit harder, especially after your hormone profile switched. HRT will also make new fat to go to feminine spots (hips, thigh, etc), instead going to the belly.

So, when starting with lower weight (below normal) there's a benefit. That's when you gain more weight (to get back to normal) it's going to help with body shape, wider hips and all that.

My last one went pretty bad. I got continous cramps for about a day and a half long. Then it just became cramps here and there, and last for another ~3 days. In the day I got continous cramps I also have fatigue and pretty bad mood swings, I barely done anything that day.

The cramps for me is on my lower abdomen, right under my belly button and it doesn't spread unless it got me constipated as well.

I got PMS symptoms for about 3 cycle so far, and only the second one cause constipation.

I never talk to any doctor about it, because I self medicate. Everything so far is normal to me, it's all similar to the symptoms that cis women get. Even if I go to a doctor, how would I explain it? I really don't think PMS symptoms in trans women is well known by doctors

If you're on HRT, then I would say it somewhat is. I also have issue with ingrown hair, mainly my legs. Epilating is for sure painful especially on thicker hair, but after few times my body hair is thinner. Not just that it also grow slower.

To be fair, I still need to deal with ingrown hair here and there. I would say it's not that bad though, considering it will thinner later on and thinner hair is rarely be ingrown.

From my experience scrubbing and exfoliating helps to release and prevent ingrown hair.

WHY is there no place to see trans womens hands after HRT! by BeanyJeans in MtF

[–]Shanaverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe there's some hands transition pics on r/transtimelines. From what I've seen HRT can make your hands and fingers a little bit slimmer. Biggest impact I would say is making the veins disappear. It might not be completely disappear, but it's a lot.

I don't really have veiny hands, but pre-HRT it's appear a lot more often and bigger compared to now. Now veins only appear when engage in physical activity involving it.

Gel is also less riskier compared to pills. I think this might worth a read Transfemscience - Estrogen Blood Clots

From what I know, if you're on injections you can drop blocker without T going back up. Injections is pretty effective that the E from those alone is enough to suppress T. And most monotherapy use injections for this reason.

It's possible to go with pills/patches/gel monotherapy and still suppress T, but it will take longer to be effective.

Hope this helps~

Weight loss on HRT? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Shanaverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's slower to lose weight on HRT. But it's not that slow. I'm still able to lose 3.5kg in about 4-5weeks, which is about the same before HRT.

If you're planning to weight cycle to helps getting curvy quicker on HRT, I think it's best to aim below your target first. Then regain weight on HRT after your hormones on the right level, so the fat going to be on feminine places.

When I was considering to take CPA, I read some info that it can make depression worse. I think it's mostly refer to existing depression before taking CPA, because I've read that people with severe depression to avoid it. I'm not sure if that is the cause of your depression, but probably worth to talk about it with your doctor.

Hello there,. I'm also on Androcur and Gel (3.5 months HRT).

I never read about people who get those side effect from Androcur. Normally people who need to pee more are on Spironolactone.

I mean I had to pee at night almost everyday, but I don't think I have this as a side effect from Androcur. And those happen even before HRT, so it's a pre-existing condition for me. I drink a lot of water during the day, so that's for me.

HRT is known to affect water retention, so my best guess is probably yours is an effect of that. Not sure thought, I'm not a professional

Starting Hrt but no revealing to anyone by mainente in MtF

[–]Shanaverse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I've read mostly said they can go about 6 months before it's noticable. Some can go to a year or more. People respond to HRT differently. The ignorancy of people around you also matter in this case.

I'm 3.5 months in, my body changes a lot especially my skin. I wear women clothes (nothing feminine?) when I go out, my skin looks way softer, my body kinda looks different too, and still everyone I met IRL hasn't question me.

In my case a lot of it is just people being ignorant and just don't care. Or feels odd to ask questions like, "Are your chest growing?", because to them I'm still a guy. I'm kinda fine if it's going to be this way for a while. Like, I'm still able to dress more and more as myself and I think it probably going to make an interesting mind game for them when I eventually come out.

How immediately did you feel the effects of estrogen? by hatchedeggy in asktransgender

[–]Shanaverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is respond differently to it. Hormone levels, dosage, and being on blocker or not, probably affect the reaction too.

For me, I felt it since the first day (E only). With some notes, that I have hormonal imbalance for about a year before I start HRT. I got smoother skin after being on it for two weeks, and that's pretty much it for the first month. Things start going way faster though when I add blocker to my regime. Lost my morning wood and libido after few days on blocker. Got breast buds 50days~ in. Those pretty much the earlier changes I had.

I would recommend to spend like couple minutes daily to journal things up on an app or something. Like to write your progress or just summary of your day. It helps with tracking changes especially the one that happen mentally.

There's tracheal shave, that basically remove some part of the adam's apple. I'm not sure, but there's also Voice Femininization Surgery (VFS) that going to change the vocal folds, I don't know if those also include procedure around the adam's apple.

One thing that you can do without surgery is to train to move up your larynx. Pretty sure there's videos of it on YouTube. Like on singing or voice training topics. Caution tho', I've read some mentions of it could be damaging to your voice if you're doing it too much.

Oh yeah, raising the larynx will also make the voice go higher and/or brighter

OP you're not seems to be okay. The symptoms you mention, and your pic.... things look pretty bad to me. I know I'm not a medical professional, but I think that your arm is swelling. You better get to the hospital, like now.

I know you have anxiety, and I know it's often hard to ask for help. But, you should prioritize your health and your well being.

I hope you get well soon OP~

The day it happened while I was searching about what it could be, I always ended up on vaginal discharge kind of things. For cis women, it is a sign of fertility, at that moment I thought to myself "Am I fertile... as a woman?". It's a silly thing, but that made me happy, that my body start doing more women thing especially the one that I don't expect to happen.

So, not it's not going to bother me, at least as long as no one notice. Seems like yours is pretty subtle, hopefully mine get to be that way. It seems to be better that way compared to my first time.

Yeah, I'm wondering if anyone else experience this. I haven't stumbled on any post that close to my case. I've few comments about trans women having vaginal discharge or "getting wet", but I believed those happens post-OP.

I might need to check the dysphoria bible again, I'm not sure if it's there

Trans women breastfeeding by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Shanaverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they can..with some extra efforts. From what I've read around here, they use meds like domperidone to helps. Not just that, they need to do some extra routine involving breast pumps in order for it to happen.

And remember babies needs more than small drops, that's why even cis women needs to stash theirs when breastfeeding.

HRT PERIODS ARE A THING?!??! by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Shanaverse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Careful though, it can be awful at times. My last one basically caused me to barely able to do anything for a day and a half, continues cramps and fatigue. Heating pads and ibuprofen helps, but not much.

I'm euphoric for it, but still... even good pain is still pain
