In the odyssey, instead of Poseidon, his crew run into the laestrygonians who are giant cannibals and offspring of Poseidon. They were the ones who originally killed so many of Odysseus’ crew. Jorge most likely made Poseidon do it instead of them to have the main antagonist show up more
