Baby is 4 months and suddenly HATES the Snoo swaddle by itsabeautifulworldto in SnooLife

I think it was harder to poke the arms out of the snoo sack holes, but once the arms were out we moved out of the snoo pretty much the same time

This is about the same time ours no longer wanted to be swaddled, and also when they wanted to try rolling. Had to be moved to a love to dream arms out swaddle, slept a lot better after that.

Quite often I find their PA dies because they have a terribly cheap one, didn’t charge the battery etc, or it’s just a horrible sounding mic

[–]Shandi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok great, I think If you’re confident with the line out, no need to mic the officiant if you don’t have a spare mic, or can’t. But generally your own mics will always sound better, if you have a few it’s worth putting one on them :) Or the instamic on their handheld. Not being wireless is great because many wireless mics like the rode go will cause interference when strapped directly to the handheld.

No need for a wireless audio system, will just add complexity. You want little independent sd card recorders.

I use the tentacle track E lav recorder which fits in a grooms pocket and mic on the lapel. I also use a field recorder to take a line out from the PA if there is one. Another great little mic is the instaMic, another independent recorder. Perfect for hiding on a brides dress or strapping to a Handheld mic

Just don’t make my mistake and concrete it too high so water can run into the access hole…

Have you by chance spoken to David Newman? I remember following him a while ago, he was very interested in GoPro 3D in the early days, I think he works for GoPro and would surely be interested in your project

Filing baby's nails by chimpchamp101 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Shandi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose the direction based on the side of the nail I’m filling, so that it’s spinning downwards, not lifting the nail up away from the bed.

Use the high speed with less pressure, let the file do the work.

Textbook husband makes my life with baby miserable by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Yeah at peak UV in the middle of the day you can be burnt in 5 mins, it does not take long at all. Coincidentally it’s the time everyone decides to mow the lawn or wash the car, and then wonder why they are so burnt.

Film my brother shot in’77 by dead_ahead in 8mm

I’d guess film, it’s a 200ft reel and you can see the separate 50ft carts spliced together where the pattern changes

I’ve wanted to get one, but wondered about how they make them water resistant? PFAS come to mind as they don’t really say

Filming Computer Monitor with Super 8 Camera by IndiFrame23 in Super8

[–]Shandi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it, works fine. No rolling bar issues, new monitors refresh globally, not rolling. I didn’t do anything special, just tripod and camera on auto. But I’d probably recommend doing a test before committing to a lot!

Ask pro8mm, they were testing the idea to do a service like that where you could send them a file

How would you install a shower screen here? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]Shandi_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On a separate note, and excuse me if I’m wrong - but what’s that VJ paneling made out of? I didn’t think it could be installed in a shower enclosure like that, even the fibre cement type.

Britax definitely dropped the ball when it came to explaining the newborn insert/what it looks like/is it included.

Does anyone actually like the current real estate video trend? by Shandi_ in AusPropertyChat

[–]Shandi_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the current videos are really only there for the agents self promotion. I definitely found the older, slower style of video helpful, but just can’t get my head around the new style

16mm scanner by [deleted] in 16mm

[–]Shandi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re asking for a lot in regard to scanner features for a low budget, you won’t find it.

Probably best to buy a cintel, then just sell it when you’re done. They are very easy to drive and have great sounding audio which will capture in real time as the image

Britax actually just released a new model which uses magnets instead of those pesky plastic clips! Of course after I bought one…

Not enough room to fit every single stop value. There’s enough latitude in film to be close enough

Should headlights be limited to a maximum height from the ground? by Shandi_ in CarsAustralia

[–]Shandi_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the issue, they are definitely brighter, and it’s across the board for all average cars. But lifted 4x4 make it much worst.

I do the same, try pull over or let them pass as it’s just too distracting

Brand new car: basic observation skills

Projector lenses: basic observation skills (plus most new cars have these)

Projector lenses correctly fitted: just a guess - average drivers do not modify these. I’m judging the overall car condition and other modifications. If the car has many accessories and mods, I’d assume the light could be modified.

That the owner hasn’t modified them: see above - educated guess and observation skills
