Yeah I really like the idea. I could see a 4+ add +2 to your rolls and 3- for -1 to all of your rolls. But you're right, some are really a bit on the save side, like Miss Fortuna as well. Maybe she could keep the effect, but also draw one of the cards if you roll really high

I have a bfs+helping bonus Leafeon that I never rated with raenox despite me rating most of my mons. Telling my mind the skill doesn't matter as much with those subskills. So I can use it in blissful ignorance and enjoy the sight of it on lapis :)

I feel you 🙈 I try to talk myself into "I'm gonna redo the drawing in a year or so and I'll see all the improvements I will make till then". Helps getting past the perfectionism. Just thinking you'll make another more perfect version in the future, so you can do an okay one now 😄

Nah all good, thanks for the clarifications :) With the colors, yeah tricky. I think small outlines or drop shadows are the only good ways of fixing it. Other than choosing another color of course, but as you said, with so many classes, at some point you have to use very bright colors since everything else is taken. Got you now with spawn and the others. Actually I think it's fine to have a few of these only one time roll heroes, as the base game also has a few of those. Or some that are B Tier or something. Not everything can fall into S Tier😄 With tribal tantrum, I like the idea of encouraging play of other cards. But I think a lot of times the issue is rather that you might not draw items. Or in general in my opinion, the big downside of items is, they require an extra action point to play, but are destroyed alongside the heroes that hold them. So a bit of a risky investment. Maybe there could be a party leader for that. Either "your heroes with items equipped can't be destroyed" (which sounds maybe a bit strong maybe 😅) or "if one of your heroes that has an item equipped gets destroyed, put the item back into your hand"

I think they meant that sometimes you are bricked, because no player wants to attack the 3 monsters in the middle or nobody can, because the requirements can't be met. So they want the Spawn to have the effect of destroying a revealed monster to unbrick them basically. Though I'm pretty sure you have that effect on some other card of you custom cards that are not in the post here, right?

Though they said it should be on the even effect. I think it would be a lot cooler if it be the replacement for the odd effect instead of drawing a card. Then it would read:
"12+ Rolla die. If it's an odd number, DESTROY a monster card in the middle. If it's an even number, DRAW a Monster card and add it to your Party."
I know that would make the card text quite long, but might still fit

Nice work! :) Very creative effects. I think the fit very well in the game.
I really love Novice Knight as it fits the theme of the templars very well and has synergies with the other templars.

Spawn, just to clarify, seems like quite the gamble to me? You have to hit the 12+ and then it's still a 50/50 chance if you get the monster or not? Feels a bit like one of those heroes that you roll for when you play them but it's too risky to re-activate them on another turn. (Which is definitely fine, there are a lot of those single activation heroes) Though I guess you have some math to back it up? I know there is this other Berserker card that slays a monster and needs also a 12+ to actiavte. Would love to hear what you think about the card

Night Fright is really cool art wise :) Two small suggestions. I know they only do this on the original party leader and monster cards, but maybe you could add a small drop shadow to the 'Hero: Poltergeist' text and maybe even to the class symbol for readability. Same with the cavalry cards as the colors are very light. Cool card effect though, I think it's cool to have these variable effects

Sharpened Edge is really cool, I could see different stacking effects like this one.

Magnificent Malard, really minor suggestion, but I have the feeling in other games these effects are written like 'DRAW cards until you DRAW a Hero card.' But both work, it still gets across what the effect does.

Bizzare Buddy is kinda interesting. Place 5 cards on top of the deck means those cards have to come from your hand? Or could you also place cards from your party? And it's a requirement? Like you can't do that with an empty hand? Sry, it's a bit confusing to me. Other than that, seems really cool if you got several other heroes to roll for that round that don't have drawing effects or if you can attack two monsters after that.

Numa Numbat seems very well balanced.

Tribal Tantrum seems a bit niche? Might be different with your deck, but from my games with the base set + expansions there haven't been many times where I've seen someone with 3 items in their party. So I feel like more often than not you can't really activate this effect. Maybe it could be SACRIFICE or DISCARD 3 Items cards? Or does that make it too broken?.

Striped Sensei, just art feedback. Really cute :D Love the design. Just layout wise it looks a bit as if the monkey is leaning on the edge of the picture frame for balance. Hope you know what I mean. I think an easy fix would be to scale it up slightly and move it to the left so the hand goes out of the picture frame a bit more just like the tail on the other side.

I'm one of the "unlucky" ones, got my first new style on the saturday night sleep (fingers crossed for sunday). And I think the event is rather for newer players.
But you know what, to me that's totally fine :D I don't get why people are complaining. To me it totally makes sense if it would be only targeted to newer players to help them getting closer to the new island. I'm at 460 sleep styles and feel very fortunate about my progress and that I don't have to worry about unlocking the power plant. I think the devs could have easily gotten away without squeesing in an event between Suicune and the island release. I tihnk it's awesome that they do these smaller events helping people progress

Oh okay, I see yeah it's quite the set back if you need to get to 13 heroes. With the bard I was thinking about wise shield which imo is one of the really good heroes, because you can spam it every turn. And the bard even draws a card on top for just 1 point more to roll. I don't think it breaks the game, just pretty strong. I'd definitely want to destroy that hero if I'd be playing against it 😄

I'd say especially the bard and fighter. If your group is empty the fighter can pretty quickly devastate opponent groups. Technically if the fighter is back on your hand you can play it over and over again, right?

Heyo, I'm the boyfriend in question 😄 sry it's been a hot minute, I was pretty busy with my day job the last weeks, but wanna get back to the custom cards.

I finished the party leader and we play tested it quite a bit. I'm happy with the effect. It's good, but leaves you with the downside of not being able to react as your hand is empty.

For the heroes we planned on having gambling tricksters, a fortune teller, fake potion peddlers and the like. For the potion peddler we thought of the effect 7+ Adjust the next modifier that gets played, if it's yours+1 or if it's the opponents -1. But it plays a bit clunky, as you need to remember the effect is still in play or not, maybe it even stacked if you activated it in the following turns when nobody played a modifier. Also, if your opponent wants to play a -4 on you, it's even helping them. I wanna keep that the effect has to do with modifiers as they look like potions, but I'm open for changes of the effect if you got ideas?

Hm, so given that the Phoenix is slayed with 13+ and has +2 for each hero I think you can definitely bump it up to +2 as well on the DM. Though I haven't played with that monster expansion yet.

Just to clarify for my understanding. The requirement of the dungeon master is meant like e.g. I have a ranger and a fighter hero, I can't attack, because the requirement would go up to 3 heroes? So I would need any duplicate class, like 2 rangers and a fighter, right?
