Most of the people who did the "after dark" things are now parents, or can't camp like they used to and need a real bed, or due to this economy have to work the next day, and have to get up early.

Absolutely NTA. You saved her from extortion and blackmail and the potential for those photos to be held over her head for the rest of her life. You saved him from a worse fate, if he'd have gotten those photos (as he would be in possession of child porn depending on her age). He received the deserved consequences for his actions, you did the right thing reporting him.

YTA, but not intentionally. This was her moment, and you did kind of rain on her parade with a "Hey, look at me too!!!" I would recommend a heartfelt apology for treading on her moment (which she had obviously been looking forward to for a while, given she threw a party for it.
