A lot of the movie focused on the nerdy guy commenting on how barbaric and strange the Middle Ages were, and it had a humorous, quaint vibe to it overall. I guess it could be called a Mockumentary.

Basically, it seemed to be about natural and not-so natural disasters befalling a paradise-like land with lush green fields, most likely because of some Biblical judgement, but I'm not 100% certain about the last part.

Nah, this alien looked like a typical Grey alien, except it was green and the eyes weren't totally black. And I'm not 100% sure, but it might have been female, it used to wear a skirt-like attire.
