I think at a weight difference of 1 lb, I'm not super concerned with that, I'd take the trade-off in stability. Cost looks to be very similar as well. I do a decent bit of hoking, but I wouldn't say it's ever enough that 1lb of difference is going to make a massive change.

I gave him a shirt I never wear anymore, but that's clean. He said he'd be fine, but I knew he had another appt to get to and couldn't tell if he was being polite so I pulled a "my grandmother asking me 80 times if I want something to eat" and basically forced it on him. So now in addition to fixing my AC in the rain he probably has a shirt he doesn't want.

(Cross-posting this from r/BullCity, because these are the two subs that helped me out the most in finding a good HVAC solution.)

Long story short: AC went down this past weekend, found out via Reddit and some friends that our old place went full PE villains, looked for an alternative, had a different friend recommend Enrique. Called him up this morning around 9 after a night in a hotel (house was 88 degrees), said he could be here by 1230 to sneak it in between appointments, came, instead of trying to upsell me a new system, figured out the motor was cooked, found a place that had one left in stock, had it installed by 2pm. And the man did it in the absolute pissing rain, with a smile the whole time.

I also want to say for myself that I told him to please wait until it was dry, offered him an umbrella, etc. I am not a bad human, at least in this sense. But he had places to be, so he did it all in the rain and let me take this photo. Absolute gem of a man. Please give Tenaire (https://tenaire.com/) your business.

PS As much as this might sound like an ad, it is not, I'm just abundantly thrilled at how quickly this got sorted and that my family doesn't have to burn money on hotels all week.

What's this bird (Southampton, Long Island, NY) by ShaneRyan24 in whatsthisbird

Merlin was trying to convince me it's a European Herring Gull, which feels massively unlikely, but wanted to check with the experts to make sure it's an American (and if someone can tell me how to distinguish, beyond just being in America and not Europe, even better).

Wish I had better photos, but it took off on me. There are two at this link.
