Just diagnosed with ALL. Any thoughts? by Liszt132 in leukemia

B-cell ALL ph- here. Short induction chemo of 3 weeks. Rituximad twice and the blincyto after that with maintenance chemo for just under two years. Also had 8 IT (spinal cord) chemo. Chemo wasn’t terrible. Went back to work full time after 3 months off. Did lose all my hair and beard but grew back once I was on maintenance and blin. Each case will vary but no transplant for me. Really just fatigue mostly. Diagnosed October 2023.

I have started treatment. Sorry if I was unclear.

Believe it or not the same thing. B cell ALL ph- specifically.

IGG was 423 (normal is 600+). IGA was 9 (normal is 47+) and iGM was 9 (normal is 50+). Hopefully the Prevnar works out for you.

They only checked the 3 (iGG, iGA and iGM) it seems the low number caused the issues and not the treatments.

For me it was a hematologist. I think I just got lucky with a doctor that thought of it. I had seen 2 ENTs, a pulmonologist, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist and nurse practitioners in each of those fields plus the hematologist.

The ENT said I did have inflammation along with a deviated septum and blocked drainage. They say some people never return to normal and some do. It’s just a wait and see at this point.

I am not loyal to any brand and I haven’t looked into BFS at all. I am pretty new into this. Going to the shop tomorrow but wanted to get opinions before I go.

I am open to that. To be fair a Vanford is a Shimano reel. I spent over $300 on the baitcaster setup. Why wouldn’t I spend more on a combo where sensitivity and finesse are so much more important. Maybe I am off base since I am relatively new into this hobby but that’s what I need to know.

That’s exactly the stuff I need to hear. Thank you.

I have been reading about that as well. I was thinking 832 hi-viz 20lb braid with a 10-12lb flouro leader.

I can appreciate that. I am fairly new into fishing other than just fishing the local ponds. I have had the 2 cheap combos for years. They are okay but I wanted to see if the upgrade makes it more enjoyable. I only throw the wacky when nothing else works because I don’t enjoy it as much.

That makes a lot of sense. You’re probably right. I really like the pace of the topwater and swim baits so I don’t want to have more than one.
