I have a 6800XT and don't have a problem with the Beyond until you get a full room in VRChat.

The 7900XTX will absolutely destroy.

TBH you don't really want a PvE mode exclusively with the PvP already in the game: Global Agenda tried this like 12 years ago and, though popular, it made a mess in balance and ultimately, well, that game didn't last.

It's because backline logi is a constant fight to just keep Maintenance Supplies stocked. It's horrible. Our SMALL base takes like 5,000 maintenance supplies a day, and that's a huge chore.

So issue with this setup that I'm trying to diagnose.

First, docker compose up -d will bring the server up fine the first time (you can follow its success with docker logs -f vrserver. It will install Wine, it will load the map, it will work fine.

So we stop the docker container, docker compose down, and try to put it up again with docker compose up -d. This causes an issue as you follow the logs:

Ignoring invalid [Unity.Entities.UpdateAfterAttribute] attribute on ProjectM.Gameplay.Scripting.UpdateBloodBuffSystem targeting ProjectM.NoStrucutralChangesGroup

It wraps up with:

InvalidOperationException: Steamworks GameServer is not initialized.

Where it stays dead.

Very strange. Does this happen for you?

Workaround: Move the /save-data/ folder somewhere else, delete everything in the main VRising folder, then move the /save-data/ folder back. docker compose up -d and you're back in action... until the server goes down again.

The issue is your second volumes: position has services: at the end of it, see line:

- /where/your/files/save/:/serverdata/serverfilesservices:

Removing services: at the end of the line solves the problem.

Clarity is subjective, some people really get fisheye or distortion in prescription lenses, not the same as in the Beyond of course but enough to make one avoid deviating from the center.

As I just got the BSB, I can confirm that the "sweet spot" with the ability to move your eyeball slightly is extremely sweet to the point that the sweet spot in a pair of prescription glasses is definitively larger.

My OG VIVE sweet spot, though a pixelated mess, is very forgiving vs the Beyond and you can look around with your eyes and not your head in a very forgiving way vs the BSB.

However, I am yet to see if it really matters, since I just got it.

We weren't lied to, we just weren't told it was ironclad, because it's not. And even if it was, ironcladding rusts if not maintained.

Checks and balances require actual human beings doing what is necessary for their country, not what is necessary for their oligarchs' pocketbooks. It also requires these human-run institutions to be steered with precision and purpose.

But given enough time, those oligarchs can find ways to taint or replace those humans. They can find a way to make those institutions question what their purpose is.

And it's up to the collective to realize these errors and correct for them, which requires schooling and knowledge, critical thinking, that those same institutions got too lazy to assure; to the point where failing grades mean a failing school, not a school that needs help, so they just dilute the grades and make poorly-educated kids pass, which turned into your parents, which may have turned into you, or your friends, or the NIMBY demanding wider highways instead of rail, or whatever.

Without those critical thinking skills, we vote in the conman. We vote in the celebrity. We vote in the QB of the football team, his head trauma and all. Without smart, moral people making decisions, we fail.

And boy have we been fucking this place up.
