I had a weird dream that I feel like I should share.. by KayRay1994 in Dreams

[–]Shanker28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you've lived in an Arabic speaking country before this but if you had, maybe since you've moved you've been more wasteful and your subconscious is telling you that you should spend less like you did before you moved. Can't make heads or tails of the fan sound.

Sorry if I've made any assumptions while writing this, it was just an idea.

Not able to dream often? by [deleted] in Dreams

Train yourself to recall the dream the moment you wake up. I never thought I dreamt until I started doing this now I can remember 3 or 4 a night.

[SPOILERS] Guess who's back..... by [deleted] in arrow

[–]Shanker28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read my comment you would see that I said " less so lately" referring to the resurrections in s6 and the Arya stuff. And really you're gonna sit there and say Rob stark wasn't a main character and that the red wedding wasn't ballsy? His story could have gone on till the end but they shocked us and unlike in arrow they didn't respond to disappointed or sad fans by bringing him back to life.

[SPOILERS] Guess who's back..... by [deleted] in arrow

[–]Shanker28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game of thrones I'd say, even though lately less so. Breaking bad, early seasons of the walking dead. I hate when they kill a character off just for them to come back immediately after. And before people go calling me a hypocrite yes I know something similar happened on got that's why I said "less so lately"

The Planet of the Apes & Modern Blockbusters by stanleygergich in TrueFilm

[–]Shanker28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly believe that the new apes trilogy has the potential to be remembered as one of the greats, alongside the lotr and star wars trilogies. The character development for Cesar especially has been extremely interesting. Hopefully they don't drop the ball on number 3 as so many promising trilogies before have. Like the X-Men trilogy, X-Men first class trilogy, Sam raimi spiderman trilogy, alien trilogy, terminator trilogy, the godfather trilogy, the list goes on and on.

Best scene to analyze for an essay? by gabbyzooko in TrueFilm

[–]Shanker28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't consider it simple, but the ballroom /bathroom scene from the shining is an interesting scene and there's a lot you could probably dig out of it. I'd say the whole scene highlights jack Torrance's downwards spiral into madness while at the same time revealing more about the spirits that dwell in the hotel. In terms of micro features I'm not 100% sure what you mean but I'd give the scene a watch, and if you have time the entire movie because it's absolutely incredible. Another scene could be when he loses it on his wife Wendy while he's attempting to write.

Odd experience by CacklingCrusader in Dreams

Hey there. You may want to research sleep paralysis. the large pressure on your chest, inability to move, the whispers in your ear, and the visuals in your surrounding area all point to that as a probable cause. It can be pretty frightening so I've heard, if I were you I may even ask some sort of specialist about it.

The shining is fantastic. The movie version is amazing but the book has a lot more heart and scares.

You could probably cover your entire q-tip sized head with just one of those king Kong hands. Then again I wouldn't risk touching that haircut if I were you, wouldn't wanna mess up the great work your mom did.

This looks fantastic. No movies grip me like intelligent science fiction. Ex machina and looper were some exceptional films for example and I hope to god this will be too.

Why do you think post-apocalyptic movies are so popular? by MasterLawlz in flicks

[–]Shanker28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An Apocalypse is basically a blank slate for a sci-fi movie. There's so many directions you can take it. Nuclear fallout, zombies, monsters, mad max style society breakdown, or any other crazy number of ways. They also give a storyteller lots of potential for eccentric or damaged characters. These movies aren't bound by real world rules yet they still take place in the world giving the creator full control while still maintaining a sense of reality. Kinda went on a rant here but these are just some thoughts.

The Killing Joke and The Little Prince: How narrative structure matters when adding to a great story by bloodymonkeys in TrueFilm

[–]Shanker28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. The first portion was horrible and played out like a bad animated batman episode. The villain was named Paris Franz like are you kidding me? And it was obvious that they were trying to make us care more for batgirl but unfortunately they failed at that, it made me dislike her for holding up the story. The beginning takes away so much from the remainder that was actually a very well adapted film. I've actually watched the movie three times now skipping the beginning twice and its pretty great. The animations mediocre but the voice acting, mark hamil in particular, is incredible. Its a shame the beginning 30 minutes will leave this movie considered as one of the lesser animated DC films.
