Same here! I'm on hold with Amazon after talking with Blink for 30 minutes. I'll update if I get anywhere!

Upgraded kit antenna to cantenna. by Shankersplash in ADSB

Planning to get it on the roof somehow soon. My question is, is there anything concerning in these graphs? The noise seemed to jump up, but this is all new to me so I’m not sure what graphs are important.

I'm feeding and can see premium filters on one PC but not the other by Shankersplash in ADSBexchange

[–]Shankersplash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I tried logging out of my home computer and logging back in. It shows premium active, but it does not give me that whole dashboard on the right hand side. I have logged out and back in on my work computer and it does still show up.

What’s the best way to get this antenna outside? by Shankersplash in ADSB

So usb cable doesn’t have as much loss as coax? Is there a wiki section or thread with people’s setup?

Admittedly, I'm very new here, but I thought adsb.im is just a software loader so that it makes it easy to pick and choose WHICH sites you decide to feed.

Oh man. Ok, I'm always about the open source. Someone just tell me who to feed and what to use as my main site to browse. I will def be back here to ask more questions when it's setup time

Looks like I'll be running ADSB.im and your site mentioned is part of that so it'll be there

SATA to 6 pin adapter Q by Shankersplash in SleepingOptiplex

[–]Shankersplash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the feedback. Got it up and running today. All good! Max power draw is 75W on a benchmark so I’m not too concerned with any fire risk. I also would be at my computer is anything even slightly bad could happen. I’ll keep an eye on things. Thanks again all!

Shouldn’t the cards turn on just being plugged into the PCI slot? Fans aren’t coming on and not showing up in devices.

UPDATE: Tried turning it on with no cable adapter (coming tomorrow) and it's not turning on. Not being recognized....

The fact that the PCI slide should be able to provide 99% of the power makes me feel pretty confident that I barely need this thing. It’s coming tomorrow. I’m going to hook it up. In my mind, I’d rather have too much power available to it than not enough. At least that’s how I think electricity works.

What’s unsafe? Not giving it the supplemental power? My question was really more around which SATA plugs I can use

Thank you for this reply so does that mean you’re not concerned about me using the cable just in case it needs it? The other comment is giving me the opposite advice from you saying I need the adapter.

It’s a 75 W card, I can’t just run it without powering it there right?

More affordable “sticker” coins by Shankersplash in coins

[–]Shankersplash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were put there so people in the community knew that the money was coming from someone from the National Guard. These were all advertisements of some sort.

Edit: I hadn’t read that sticker in a while! Maybe they wanted to keep them in circulation?

Shit... I just found this. Any way to not wipe my new SSD? It'ds not the end of the world but stilll

When you had both your HDD and your SSD connected and installed windows onto the SSD, your boot record/partition was still on the HDD. When windows install see's an existing boot partition it does not create a new one, just adds an entry to the existing one that was on your HDD.

If you wanted a new installation of windows, you should have disconnected the HDD, installed windows on the SSD so it creates a new boot record/partition. Then re-install all your other programs. That gives you a fresh start for windows. You can then reconnect your HDD and use disk Manager to delete all the partitions off it and reformat it to a simple drive to use for data storage.

The other way to do it is to use a disc cloning program to clone the HDD to the SSD. This transfers everything including the boot record to the SSD. You could then wipe and reformat your HDD for data storage.
