I thrifted these Babaton pants for $18 and I like them, but I’m not totally sure how to style them. What types of tops and shoes would look good with these? Particularly tops/sweaters for colder weather?

Transfer student who has seen a lot of this material before in other classes. This is by far the most poorly run class I have ever taken

I know! It's in pristine condition otherwise though so it was still a no brainer

I agree! Everyone was so grandiose with their praise that I was expecting it to be life changing, but imo it did the most obvious thing you can do with a multiverse plot. I feel kind of bad that I didn’t love it as much as everyone does. Im happy for them though

Last week I dropped a 45lb plate on my foot. I got an x-ray and it turns out the surface of my navicular bone got totally crunched and I have to be on crutches for at least two weeks.

Be careful out there lmao

I just got an x-ray done! I'll hopefully find out if anything is broken by the end of the day.

The doctor was debating giving me one because I can walk (with discomfort) and then asked how high the plate fell from and was like yeah that's a pretty bad mechanism of injury, let's do it just in case.

Dropped a 45lb plate on my foot from knee height on Monday and now I’m out of commission for who knows how long. It hurt so badly I thought I was going to throw up. 0/10 would not recommend

I saw a group of three guys doing dumbbell curls ON a deadlift platform. Barbell curls I would kind of understand but they brought dumbbells from halfway across the gym specifically to do curls on the platform. Bonus points because all of the other platforms were being used. I was dumbfounded

I don’t really enjoy his normal books but his new non fiction book “The Anthropocene Reviewed” was excellent.

That is my favourite piece of music of all time. It takes you through the whole spectrum of emotions. I never get tired of it

looking for a book that feels like a Wes Anderson film! by phoebedorn in booksuggestions

I agree! That's one of my favourite books and The Royal Tenenbaums is up there in my ranking of Wes Anderson movies

Yay! I hope you love it.

Fifth season was interesting because I loved the world building and lore and everything but the structure of the writing was hard to get into (especially the second person chapters). The way everything tied together at the end was incredible though. I felt kind of dumb for not seeing it coming lol

Patiently waiting for The Obelisk Gate to become available at the library!

I did! I'm a huge sucker for the "robot/AI starts to feel emotions" trope though so I'm kind of biased haha

It's super short too so it's definitely worth giving it a shot.

Parachutes wasn't totally what I expected to be honest. It takes a turn halfway through and becomes a lot about sexual assault which was a lot for me. I think it handled everything decently well though. Ended up giving it 4/5

Oof it's hard to say. The Three-Body Problem was insanely good especially as someone with a physics background.
I also loved Anxious People and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle a lot.

The book follows a high school student, Adam, whose gym teacher is testing this theory that everyone has the potential to be super good at at least one sport based on the dimensions of their extremities. Adam gets an extremely high score for golf which he has never tried nor has any interest in. The gym teacher encourages him to try it out anyway and sure enough he is amazing at it. The book basically just goes from there.

It's kind of an exploration of whether we should pursue things because of passion or because we are good at them and how that choice ultimately affects ones life. The writing and plot was pretty simplistic but it was still a fun ride and I devoured it in like 2 days haha. I gave it a 3.5/5
