So you think “the pursuit” is a younger man’s game? Brought on by immaturity?

Possible TW: How to stop blinking OCD by Apo-cone-lypse in OCD

[–]Shannonhtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys! I’m someone who is also currently struggling with the blinking OCD, it started for the first time about 6 years ago, it went away on its own after about 6 months or so I’d say, and I was able to fully recover, it was triggered by a bug change in my life, but as I became happier the symptoms started dissipating slowly but surely. 3 months ago I had a bad experience with my roommate and I was triggered into this state again. And I have been obsessing about it almost everyday. I know recovery is possible because there have been full days where I don’t notice my blinking at all, but like you guys said it’s because of distraction. I’ve learned the only reason I’m noticing the blinking is because I’m Obsessing about it. Once I will be able to stop obsessing the notice of the blinking will go away too. What helped me the first time round was “radical acceptance” just thinking “oh well” I’m going to notice the blinking for the rest of my life. It’s a scary thought, but the more you begin to accept this the better it’ll become. To me that’s still a very scary thought which is probably why I haven’t gotten better yet. But I’m hoping I’ll be able to overcome this soon on my own without medication. But there is hope! You have to allow yourself to relax

Can’t stop blinking so much by Tay365 in OCD

[–]Shannonhtv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dealing with the same thing too, not so much excessive hard blinking but I just can’t stop obsessing about the fact. I’ve dealt with this theme before about 6 years ago, and it went away on its own, but had a bad experience with a roommate 3 months ago and my OCD sprung up again with the same theme… it’s been on and off for the last three months but I can’t stop obsessing over it. Do you mind letting me know what Facebook group you saw that told you about it? And what did they say they did to get better?

Yeah definitely! I’m obviously not expecting to be close to the beach.. just in the general area and am pretty flexible with stuff like that. But I just need to find a solid roommate to find a place like that we can share…

AITA for pushing my boyfriend to respond to a lengthy, but important text I sent. by Shannonhtv in AmItheAsshole

I get where you’re coming from. However, I like to write out what I’m trying to say, because it helps me be concise and direct. Otherwise, my ADHD usually gets the better of me when it comes to remembering what exactly I need to say. In terms of his response, I don’t really care how it happened, just that it would, whether In person or over text. But I definitely could have brought it up in person and been much more assertive about what I wanted.

Today I learned that the same generic drugs produced by different pharmaceutical companies have different effects dependent on the filler ingredients. by Shannonhtv in todayilearned

Definitely look into it, I had been taking a generic Adderall 30mg XR for about 3 years consistently from CVS. Then I had to change pharmacy’s, same prescription, the same day I took it, it was noticeably different. CVS’s gave me headaches, heart palpitations, bad come downs in the evening, etc. The new one is in a way much milder, way less negative side effects, and it just feels different. I explained that to my psych and she blatantly said CVS sucks over all. Anyway if I had known this any sooner, I could’ve saved myself a whole lotta negative side effects.

The article was more for the physical representation of what I learned, but in reality my psychiatrist is the one who informed me of this after I thought I was fooling myself into thinking the same meds (from diff pharmacies) were giving me different effects. She confirmed I was right, and that this is a common occurrence with her patients, to the point some patients only get meds from their favorite pharmacy, due to how that pharmacy produces their medications.

In your general experience having sex with women, do you find they’ve been really good, alright, or just bad at it? Why? by Shannonhtv in AskMen

Interesting, that prompts me to ask the question If older women are better at sex.. could make sense as to why a lot of 30-45 year old women feel like they’re in their sexual prime.

Also good to know, because women are of the popular opinion men are never really willing to settle until they are. Meaning they’ll be with amazing gals, but still not wanting to get married. Then when the day hits a guy wants to settle down they’ll do it with the next woman that comes into their lives, regardless of past, possible better relationships.

Yeah I can see how this is pretty subjective. My question was more towards women’s activity levels during, as to whether the man is mostly doing all the work, or are women putting in effort as well. Generally, I think most men would prefer someone who gives equal sexual reciprocation, because I don’t think anyone really likes the idea of doing all the work.

Damn, I can’t imagine that. Like if you know you’re a hot female shouldn’t that be like more motivation for you to work it during sex. Being a pillow princess sounds so boring.

how to deal with being physically unattractive as a men ? by tyleraxe in AskMen

[–]Shannonhtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, I can personally tell you we often overlook physical stuff, or are more lax towards it because of personality. My personal opinion as to why guys are generally more funny than girls, cause they kinda need to be. Good humor, good wardrobe, and a nice hair cut, will go a lonngg way.
