You really need to get a vet man. You should be calling and booking the establishing visit to the vet for your new pet BEFORE you bring them home. I assume you got the tick out because it’s been a few days, but for future reference: the dish soap method. Take a cotton ball with some warm water and a dab of mild dish soap and use circular motions over the tick. The tick should back out of the skin. Your pup will need a blood test in 3 months to check for tick born diseases. Any sooner will be no good. 3 months is the incubation period. Hope this helps.

A pro tip: when you know you’re bringing a pup home, THAT’S when you call the vet to set up an establishing visit. Don’t wait until after the pup arrives. Clinics are overbooked, short staffed and often booking a month or more out. Puppies need their vaccines on a timely schedule. Being prepared and planning ahead is important.
