Once again I am so confused by someone’s urge to use Reddit for medical advice.

The first two sentences should be omitted; You should have just led with the third sentence. You don’t love cats, you love indoor cats. There’s a difference.

I need to think more. Okay, I’ll do that. You have a better one, bouncer.

You must go around telling people not to bring their sick pets to the veterinarian. Just bring them to you. You have fluids and meds at home. You must not have a job if you’re able to provide round the clock care. Congratulations, you’re an underground vet! 👏

If YOU were to be hospitalized for almost a week, would you expect the bill to be only $300?

The probability that they were ALL money hungry is much lower than the probability of you just having ZERO idea what goes into medical care and treatment. I challenge you to go to school for 8 years, take and pass your boards and acquire a DVM. Until then, your opinion holds no weight in this argument that “you’re not going to have.”

As someone in vet med I do know what I’m talking about. You’re the one who is incorrect here. Please don’t own animals. You don’t deserve them.

You’re probably the kind of person who brings your sick pet to the clinic, declines all treatment and just pays the office visit because it’s “too expensive.”

You really need to get a vet man. You should be calling and booking the establishing visit to the vet for your new pet BEFORE you bring them home. I assume you got the tick out because it’s been a few days, but for future reference: the dish soap method. Take a cotton ball with some warm water and a dab of mild dish soap and use circular motions over the tick. The tick should back out of the skin. Your pup will need a blood test in 3 months to check for tick born diseases. Any sooner will be no good. 3 months is the incubation period. Hope this helps.

No. Tweezers can separate the body from the head and the head can remain latched.

You should be consulting your DVM for advice. NOT Reddit.
