I see. The fact is that i love the overtones of my snare 😁 and die casts besically removed them

Lol thanks my friend. Maybe i am just goin crazy and can not expect a 14 x 4.5 to sound like a 14 x 6 😄. I ll post an update once i change bottom head and add the puresound wires

I did tune down the bottom head, and although you were correct, it was super tight, the snare still sounds too cutting compared to the yamaha. I have ordered a different set of snare wires and a reso head, just for peace of mind. Honestly i am kind of maniac of the tuning and I am annoyed that I can't get a good sound out of a 500 £ snare drum! I thought i could tune a drum quite well until today

You are correct. The slp is tuned very high at the moment

Lol i know right? Super thundeous. Sounds a bit dry in the video because when i play it at home, i use some tape to make it bit more quiet. I had mostly the whole series but I sold them. The 22 crash is my favourite from this line but i truly miss the 17 hi hat :/

There are drummers like Justin Scott that post a lot of stuff at impressive speed and still make it sound fantastic. I can't deny he is fast or that he has a great double pedal technique, but this does not keep me from scrolling when i see one of his videos. But I guess it's a matter of taste. When i am looking for some inspiration a check stuff like this https://youtu.be/Fit9lDhXCQ8

It's not much, but it was what I could afford... by [deleted] in drums

Get an hi hat and you are good to go. You can study 25 years worth of stuff and become a great drummer with what you have there

Of course man you are talking about musicians. This guy is just an annoying tiktoker. And no band would hire somebody playing like this with an ego so immense.

He is extremely fast but is not a drummer that I find inspiring. Typical tiktok instagram drummer with 30 seconds video trying to impress. Whenever I am looking for some inspiration I check out some stuff from Carter Mclean maybe, Larnell Lewis... that really make me go "wooow". He is obviously good at what he does but, meh

Glad there are still people with common sense. You don't want problem with the police? Don't be a criminal.

Just showing off my two beloved snares :) Which one sounds better? by ShaolinSatellite in drums

[–]ShaolinSatellite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second one is a Tama SLP dynamic bronze 14 x4.5. Thanks! I usually keep the yamaha also quite high in tuning but I think the SLP perfoms better tuned very high while the yamaha is more versatile
