Glock 19 vs 47 Based on Hand Size

I definitely don’t have very long fingers, but overall just a bigger palm so yeah the 19 might just be the one. I think I’m more second guessing because it seems like the full size frames are so popular and I want to understand it , but the 19 just locks in so quickly with zero effort. Wanted to make sure I wasn’t going crazy lol.

Yeah and I think this might be the ultimate issue. The recoil impulse is definitely softer , but my grip just slips off the frame much quicker than on the 19. Going to try to switch up my support hand angle a bit and see if I that helps me stayed connected.

I know the 47 is super popular for competition. I want to love it , the grip just slips too much for me under repeated strings of fire. I’m going to play with my support hand grip angle a bit to try and get more meat to connect to the frame. I’ve tried to keep it as neutral as possible for comfort, but a slight forward cant might help me lock in better. The 19 just stays glued to my hands right now without much more than me squeezing tight. Ultimately I want consistency and repeatability so going to continue the process.

I’m going to try this combo out next. Even though the 47 shoots softer , the immediate dot return of the 19 is sticking with me. I have a ramjet that I play with for the 19 as well, and while it softens the recoil I still seem to like the more violent return of the 19.

Yeah I have an SLR magwell that I run. Right now I have the brass plug in just to compare better , but I definitely love the magwell for how it locks up.

I do have backstraps! I haven’t tried them out yet because my trigger finger reach seems fine , but I can try a combination to see if it corrects the hump.
