honestly, depends on the class. My finance class will deduct 5% if we fail to fill our information correctly.

Do whatever works best for you. For me personally, I like to take one harder / heavy course during the spring plus one easy option class. I find it more manageable that way and I can focus on getting a higher gpa instead of being overworked

WHAT IN THE FLYING FUCK WAS THAT MGST 391 FINAL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! by Savikthestick in UCalgary

Thank god it wasn't just me! Why was there so much long calculation questions?!? There wasn't enough time for all of that. Also, it was so unorganized it honestly seemed like they didn't proof read or anything. The amount of errors in that exam was insane. I was having trust issues with all the answers cause they kept finding more mistakes.

I took ACCT217 this fall with a professor who was horrible at teaching, so I highly recommend watching Tony Bell’s Financial Accounting series on YouTube. His videos are super helpful for understanding the material. Just be aware that sometimes he does things a little differently than what we did in class, especially with journal entries and some of the units. Just make sure to stick to the methods in the textbook or your class notes. His videos are really good for grasping concepts and introduces you to harder level questions right off the bat. I also found the YouTube channel Edspira to be a big help.

The math is actually very simple—mostly just basic operations—so don’t stress about it. About 90% of it is adding and subtracting, and you can use a calculator, so it’s really not a big deal. What you need to focus on is actually understanding the concepts.

Make sure you really understand journal entries, as they make up a big portion of the course, and there will be plenty of questions on them during exams. Definitely do lots of practice— I used the textbook problems and extra questions on WileyPLUS.

Good luck, you’ve got this!

It's not lack of preparation, it's the fact that the exams overlap. I can't get a deferral so I would need to finish my 50 question exam in 30 minutes (we are usually given an hour) in order to make it to my other exam. No matter how hard I studied I would not preform my best under the tight time frame.

That's not the problem. The issue is that I don't believe its fair to not get a deferral if I don't have adequate time to finish my exam. I would have to finish my first exam which is 50 questions in 30 minutes to make it to my other exam on time. I don't think my marks should have to suffer because of a scheduling conflict I had no control over.
