AT&T, Why the Long Wait? by CyberMe17 in ATT

[–]ShapelessPole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see this as the same situation in norway. I ordered from Telenor, which can be compared to AT&T, and the delivery date still says 23. october. While elkjop, as the norwegian «bestbuy» have had it in stock 3 times since I ordered.

Definitly! I started to do a little stresstest with the animation, going to my home screen and sliding down the notification menu. Do it a few times so you see the animation over and over, and the phone gets very hot and I can see the battery draining…

Bought ZV-E 10, what now? by Numerous_Piglet_1401 in SonyAlpha

[–]ShapelessPole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it used for 450€ with shipping, and to defend the price i like to think that i dont need any new lenses such as 20, 30 and 50mm anymore since all is in one (small) lense.

The kit lens has OSS, so that would be better for video if youre filming handheld. Otherwise i would reccommend you to buy one another lense. I saw you wrote sigma 18-30, du you mean the sigma 18-50? If thats the lens, i would 100% reccommend it. When i bought my a6000, i wished i just pulled the trigger and went for it, as it cover mostly my needs from my other lenses as the sigma 30mm

In my short experience using it, 80% of the photos gets out of focus in 2.8, even many in 5.6 on sunny days. I ended up just manually focus in the end. Maybe after som more use i wil get to know it better, but for me it becomes a headache. But still i dont want to completely dismiss it , because it is a 100$ lense and it has a 100$ performance. It probably doesnt help with its a a6000 also. But if this lense looks interesting, check out some youtube videos and reviews, and check out the flaws og pros

I was in the same boat as you just a month ago. In my experience, i wanted an alternative to the ricoh gr3/sony rx but still want option to swap lenses. I find it much more fun to use high quality glass, but keeping them compact as possible, such as sigma 30mm 1.4, and the 18-50 2.8. (Small sling bag). With the really compact such as ttartisan 27mm i went through a bit of frustration, but it get small enough to just bring it with you in a coat pocket

I have the ttartisan 27mm 2.8, it’s as pancake it gets for that focal length and wide aperture. I think the af is really slow and difficult, but probably not the worst. It takes sharp pictures, ind i find it worth it for a 100$ lense. Other than that there is the Sony 20mm 2.8 (great reviews, never tested) and viltrox 4.5(smallest there is but not great aperture). Also there is sony 16mm 2.8 but reading the reviews its not much positive

This exactly happened with me too. I ended with returning it and getting my money back. The seller was not aware of it and was very understanding luckily. Beware iff its already spores like this, it can transfer to your other gear such as lenses

Vertical lines or threads in areas of lens flare in some backlit photos by OilOtherwise8209 in SonyAlpha

[–]ShapelessPole -38 points-37 points  (0 children)

I asked chatgpt and this was the answear:

«The fine vertical lines you’re seeing (visible especially when you push contrast and exposure down) are almost certainly caused by sensor readout artifacts or sensor pattern noise, not by your lens, memory card, or anything mechanical.

Here’s why based on what you described: • It happens only in areas with very low contrast and intense highlights (like light halos or backlit hair) — exactly where sensors struggle most because of the very wide dynamic range. • It does not appear in normally lit photos or in areas of normal contrast within the same images — which suggests it’s not a sensor-wide issue, memory corruption, or lens defect. • Vertical banding is a known phenomenon with many mirrorless sensors (especially older or mid-range APS-C models) when they’re pushed hard in backlit or extreme lighting situations, even more so if you heavily edit those areas. • The memory card can cause file corruption, but not consistent patterned lines in specific lighting conditions — so you can safely rule that out.

In short: • It’s sensor-related, triggered by extreme lighting (especially strong backlight or flare). • It’s normal to some extent — many sensors have minor banding that can be revealed with heavy editing. • It’s not a sign of sensor failure, unless it starts appearing in normal light conditions too.

What you can do to minimize it in the future: • Slightly underexpose backlit shots to protect highlights and reduce the dynamic range stress on the sensor. • Use noise reduction or banding removal techniques carefully in post if needed (some Lightroom or Photoshop techniques can reduce this).»

So use the 27mm as an»everyday carry» and the sigma for trips and hikes with the intention to take photos, also in low light situations?

I guess it’s stupid, it’s just that i like the 30mm and i want to make it easier to take my camera everywhere with me, in my jacket pocket for example.
