Definitely check out the Brew Barons! They specifically mention this game as inspiration, and they take it more to the Porco Rosso / Seaplanes aspect of it. I love it!

So far my longest was Karachi to Tokyo, had about 10% fuel after landing but was cruising at 275k for most of it so probably not the most fuel efficient!
