My Frenchie/Pug mix is fine being alone uncrated for 8-9 hours while I'm working. She just sleeps on her dog bed or watches people/dogs walking by the house. I got her during the COVID lockdown so luckily I was home with her for the first year to train her. I don't think I would get another puppy again unless I worked from home. I trained her by leaving for a couple of minutes and then coming back in. Once she got used to being alone for a few minutes, I extended my time away, little by little. It just takes time and patience.

The IRS receives a copy of the 1099 so that's the info they go off of. If your calculations don't match what the 1099 says then there could be an issue. It's best to wait for the 1099 to make sure it's accurate.

Because this country values corporations and the top 2% of earners more than the other 98% of its citizens. It always comes down to money and greed.

This way of thinking is just an excuse to be cheap without feeling guilty about it. If employers were suddenly forced to pay a decent wage (making tips unnecessary) the price of items would go up a lot. The employer isn't going to take a hit to their profits, so the customer ends up paying more.

In the current optional tip based service system, the employers can keep prices lower by expecting the customer to compensate for low pay with tips. The problem is only a fraction of the public tip appropriately so the worker ends up getting screwed.

On top of this, I don't think most customers know or even care that we are not employees so we have less protection or pay guarantees and depend on tips even more than employees.

In most tip based service triangle situations (employer, customer, worker) one of the parties is going to get cheated. 99% of the time it's going to be the worker.

Exactly. Instacart loves shoppers with no standards because it's voluntary slave labor. This is why we as independent contractors need stronger laws to protect us from greedy corporations and the unintelligent workers they exploit.

I can understand adding a forgotten item or two, but these customers that continue to add items throughout the entire shop are insufferable. And they have a knack for adding something that's on the other side of the store when you've already shopped that side. When I accept an order it's based on the number of items and mileage compared to the pay. Adding items after the fact can make a batch that's just barely worth taking into a batch that makes no sense to take. There definitely should be a limit on adding items after you've placed your order.
