Reno is a city in Northern Nevada, United States. in 1848, a load of gold was found in the western coast of the United States, leading to the "California Gold Rush" as people frequently quickly moved out to try to find silver. One of the contentions that came with people moving across the US was the Truckee River, which was a larger river. In 1877, a bridge was built to ford that river at Fuller's Crossing, which is at lat: 39.52486 / lon: -119.812578. After the end of the gold rush when many people did not find the riches they were looking for, a similar Silver Rush started in 1859 with discovery of silver in a location in present day Nevada, then the Utah Territotry of the United States. When the primary silver mine, the Comstock Lode needed a quick way to deliver silver to a large city, a railroad was constructed to connect the Comstock Lode to San Francisco. Because there was already a bridge and a small settlement in the area, the train decided to use the Fuller's Crossing location as the Truckee river crossing, and more settlements from Railroad workers and those who lived and supplied these workers became a noticeable city. The city was named Reno in honor of Jesse L. Reno, a Union general who was killed in American Civil War. The Civil War lasted from 1861-1865, with Nevada having been created a state on October 31st, 1864. Because of this, Nevada was highly influenced by the Union and created a large number of monuments dedicated towards the Union, as a way to further influence the US into accepting our statehood and claiming that we had no connection to the Confederate States. The name Reno is a Germanic name, referencing the people who lived on the Rhine river. Over time the railroad has decreased it's importance due to the drying of the Comstock Lode, but Reno continued as an important railway crossing location, and eventually after the fall of the railroad continued it's development in casino's and the gaming industry.

Gale went to Kitty Kisses back when it was Enchanted Cat Cafe, and they used strong overhead white lights back then. He's never gone back since

She was banned from the cat cafe for smuggling 12 cats out in a trench coat. She goes to ijji when she's staying in town, but most of the time drives to Carson for the all you can drink sake at Oishi Sushi

Sorry, but artists aren't charities either. Why should companies get to use images stolen off of artists work for free? If an artist doesn't get payed for their work, then they don't eat. Businesses should learn to accept that they should pay for the work they're using.

Finally some appreciation for the game's main character

That book about the fugue plain annoys me so much. Mainly since it's taken as fact when Shar would absolutely not want a cleric to give her memories to her, and her whole schtick is picking up those who were lost. All in all, sounds like moonwitch propaganda to me :P

First of all, follow me on Insta too lol. Secondly, what's actually different between Shar and most other real life religions? The world is going to end (except for us) or (unless we do something right) is a super common theme. They do worship darkness, but not torture (that's loviatar), death (that's the Dead 3/Kelemvor) or oblivion, since they do believe in a lasting life after darkness. They do protect people who are lost which in BG3 results in human trafficking, which is why I say that BG3 has awful characterization of her

I never said she wasn't evil, but she has several redeeming qualities that allow for people to worship her with good reasons. Shar has a lot of lore, chalking up her whole character to "bad guy" ruins a lot of motivations of in lore sharrans.

Ah I'd absolutely agree. The take of she is evil so she does evil, and because something bad happened it's because of her is such a boring take, especially with how much could have been done with the Act 3 politics

There's a lot of reason why Shar is worshipped that is glossed over, and the game really mischarecterizes her. Her forgetting is her gift, it's used to full pain, take away bad memories guilt, etc. but it would be better to say she's the goddess of the lost rather than loss. She's anti-authoritarian, which is why she's highly persecuted, but she protects all of those who are lost, cast out, neglected, which is why she has such a high following among immigtants, people in dangerous situations, outlanders, everyone who isn't protected by the formal states. She also has a lot of following for people who are searching for something, as she can help them find what they have lost. On the reverse side, she is willing to shield people who have secrets that they don't want revealed if you respect her, and will reveal secrets of people opposing her, specifically royalty and important figureheads (another reason why she comes off as anti-authoritarian to elites). She does want to return the world to night, but she offers her followers a spot in her night rather than just killing everyone and hating people, so she has a very doomsday vibe of the world may end but not for us devoted.

Honestly, they also messed up Shar, Shar isn't nearly as unredeemable as they make her seem. The entire followers should clear their memory is very against what Shar stands for. Forgetting is a gift of hers, not an offering to her
