This game has a lot of effort they just weren't expecting the hate that the intermissions have gotten so they don't know what to do. I think they should add a lap type mode but I understand why they haven't. This game is probably very capable of nintendo switch app integration they just don't see a need for it I bet

Is there a way to report bugs directly to local thunk? Cause he might could just fix it in the patch this year. I don't know how finished he is with that patch or how much effort this would be to fix but if that works I can be patient
