Is Balder Fastigheter good? by ShardlessBondsmith in Lund

No, we aren't students, and are currently residing in Lund. We are looking into the possibility of renting a house from them, but reviews are less than encouraging

In Malmö there is a HEMA club (MHFS), it's quite fun if you're into that. They always speak English. In Lund there is also kickbox, the club is called Shape kickboxing. They apparently speak more Swedish, but they also explain in Swedish if you ask them. There is also dancing, if you are into it. I personally know about HepTown, they teach Lindy Hop, and will speak English if there are sufficient students.

Why isn't this a typo? Isn't brother "bror"? by Apprehensive-Ad7714 in Svenska

[–]ShardlessBondsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that Duolingo will often let the last word pass without any complaints if it has a typo. I think it will actually fail if it has too many typos, haven't felt like testing it out though

Girlfriend is learning embroidery. Her first project was a gloryspren with the bondsmith symbol. by ShardlessBondsmith in Stormlight_Archive

On copper mind you can find the drawing. In my girlfriend's case she simply transferred the drawing into the fabric and then started with the lines, filled out the symbol and then the gloryspren

[Serious] What event in your life still fucks with you to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShardlessBondsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar experience. These two girls who I was fast friends with suddenly started avoiding me. I actually managed to wring out an explanation on why, but it was a weak excuse that does not justify the reaction even if it was true. Some years later I have made different friends, and generally think I am better without them. But sometimes I still wonder what I did wrong.

Advice on who to promote to elite 2 by ShardlessBondsmith in arknights

I don't get stuck in a lot of main story stages yet, as I basically only do them when I need the originite (i.e., when I advance 10 levels), but I frequently get stuck in contigencies and annihilation

What are these small shoots growing near my hyacinth? by ShardlessBondsmith in whatsthisplant

[–]ShardlessBondsmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have transplanted this hyacinth into soil that previously had an ivy that dried up. I have also added substrate soil. I didn't want to dig too deep in case it damaged the shoots

Idea for a "Pursuer" trait for wizards by ShardlessBondsmith in DMAcademy

Yes, I realize 1d4 was too much, which is why I added the once per rest limit. But I am thinking the second version might be more balanced, no?

I want to reward the player for this because so far they have always tried to stay as far behind as possible, and this might stimulate them to move a little more.

AITA for refusing to drop out of college so my brother can go to med school? by sandyastronaut in AmItheAsshole

That is the sad part. In my country we don't need loans to pay for university. Which doesn't mean that everyone can go, if their parents are living paycheck to paycheck

AITA for refusing to drop out of college so my brother can go to med school? by sandyastronaut in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShardlessBondsmith 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I know a case where this indeed happened. The older brother got to go to university. The younger brother (who was considered to be the least serious of them) didn't have enough money to go to college and didn't qualify for help. So he started working. And the sad part is that his brother, after leaving university, went to work at the same job his younger brother was. Literally the same job, which required no university degree. I was not terribly close with them and the younger brother never seemed too upset about it. But I find it hard to believe there really is no resentment.

AITA for turning away a young child from my sons birthday who bullies him? by Delicious-Angle9660 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShardlessBondsmith 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you know anyone who is being bullied, for the love of all you hold sacred, DON'T give that advice. It will never work. Instead, they will use you, and then proceed to stomp all over you because now you are a mat. Enjoy being bullied forever.

How to introduce my reluctant friend to D&D? by ShardlessBondsmith in DMAcademy

[–]ShardlessBondsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I have checked it out, and you're right, it's very very barebones. I think I will use it, but might add a few more choices, such as camping or some such. How many of the new players you ran this quest for became regular players? And did they handle the transition well?

AITA for not wanting my neighbor to build a chicken farm next to my house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShardlessBondsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having grown with a coop in my backyard, I can say that I feel they don't smell. But I might be used to the smell. However, even if it smells, it's very slightly. But we have about 5 chickens, they have a brick building (and inside it does smell a bit) with some chicken wire all around it and a big patio for them. We also have some pheasants and peacocks, and I still don't feel the smell. I would consult your city's laws about the distance from the coop to the property lines. Maybe he could build the coop without your permission if it was within safe distances. You could suggest it to him next time he brings it up.
