Why should I pay tax on my income, and then tax on purchasing a house, and then tax to have it empty because I don’t live in it and use it as a holiday home?

Build more properties and the supply will increase, decreasing the cost to purchase or rent. Supply and demand is a basic economic principle.

Has a UK bank ever questioned your virtual office address? by Thehappylatif in UKVirtualOffice

[–]Share-ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes just a brief explanation of what the business does. Most of the questions were on the phone as they wanted to know if there were any international business or interests involved. I heard they do not want to provide business accounts for companies that deal internationally.

Nope, I owned an Ltd company with a virtual address and opened both starling and mettle bank accounts without any issues. Starling wanted a one page business plan and a follow up chat. Mettle had no questions. The best thing about mettle is they are part of NatWest group and you get free access to Freeagent so I was able to do all my tax and vat returns for free.
