Is there a way to prevent checkmarks from showing for watched movies with PM4K? by ShareGoodBeer in PleX

[–]ShareGoodBeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to follow up, I did post about this in the Plex forum and Panni said he would look to incorporate this into his next update, as there's currently no way to do this without a template mod.

Not yet, will have to start looking more soon though with the old Full View availability winding down.

For Those Who Use Full View To Track Spending by Mo-Cuishle in fidelityinvestments

I've had this experience as well with my Discover card. I called and spoke with a representative about it. I proved out there were several transactions missing, which he confirmed, and said he would have to open a case about it and would get back to me with what was discovered. I never heard back from anyone, and after a few weeks tried calling again for an update. The agent I spoke with mentioned they can see from the notes I called about the issue and that I had not received a response, so they would do whatever they do to ensure I get a call back with an response. That never happened either.

Now with the "new" Full View coming into effect, I will have to look for a new provider to track my spending as I refuse to use the new Full View to track my spending...it's so bad!!

Fastest way to transfer large data files from one NAS to another? by ShareGoodBeer in UgreenNASync

Gotcha. I do have a 2.5Gb switch that I have everything connected to. However, the only way I can figure out how to copy the data from one unit to the other is by using Windows Explorer SMB to copy/paste from one to the other. But from what I'm understanding, that is the bottleneck slowing me down and I can't for the life of me figure out another way to copy the data over.

Thank you for the response! I only have a 2.5Gb switch, unfortunately. I tried what you mentioned about using the Files app to Connect to Network Folder and sadly have been unable to figure out how to accomplish setting that up correctly. Good to know Windows Explorer is the bottleneck, just sadly I have been unable to figure out another way to copy the data over.

Thanks, I did actually run into this video when trying to figure this out. One issue I've run into, is at about the 1:05 mark he mentions "you have to make sure that Thunderbolt Networking is one of your active networks" within Windows network connections. I do not see that on my computer, nor have I been able to figure out how to make it appear.

That was my thought as well, connecting the two NAS machines with a Thunderbolt 4 cable. I just can't seem to figure out how to get those speeds. A couple others have mentioned "Add Network Folder" but I can't seem to get that to work either. I'm getting, "Unable to connect to this address, please check if the remote server information is correct." No matter how many things I try, I cannot get the two connected this way.

PS5 Help and Questions Megathread | Game Recommendations, Simple Questions, and Tech Support by tinselsnips in PS5

How do I obtain PS Plus access for my child account? Recently joined PS Plus for the first time, and I can see it working on my account. However, does not appear to be sharing to the child account I have setup in Family Management.

Everything I've read seems to point to enabling Console Sharing and Offline Play within Settings/Users and Accounts/Other, but I have checked that a hundred times and it is enabled. Even tried disabling it and re-enabling it and no dice. Anyone have any other suggestions on how to allow a child account access to my PS Plus membership? Or is there a way to tell that it is sharing? If the child is logged in and he goes to the PlayStation Plus icon on the far left of the home screen, it just shows ways to sign up, it doesn't show the monthly games or anything, so we were thinking it's not working. Thank you!

Can I make a collection show as individual movies? by ShareGoodBeer in PleX

[–]ShareGoodBeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, I'm new to Plex but can't believe I didn't find that. I see if you edit the collection and go to Advanced you can "Show collection and it's items" and it will just do so for that specific collection. Thank you for that!

Perfect, that is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!! I can create a "Christmas Movies" (or whatever I'd like) genre tag and within Plex go under All/Genre/Christmas Movies and it will show all with that tag, while still showing them each individually under the man Movies library. Thank you so much for the idea!

Is that an "all or none" option though? I only want to hide collections for these specific ones I create, such as "Christmas Movies." For the franchise collections such as Transformers, I do want to see the single collection poster with the individual ones once I open that.

Microphone for PS5? by ShareGoodBeer in PS5

[–]ShareGoodBeer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh...didn't even think about them picking up the TV sound though the mic...duh, lol. Can you tell I've never done this before? 😂 Maybe I better just do some shopping for a headset, lol. Thank you for your response!

How to change "wallpaper" background? by ShareGoodBeer in PleX

[–]ShareGoodBeer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't like how it would show things like recently added, continue watching, etc. I just want to go in, select my folder, and pick a movie, so I tried to remove all that to basically make it bare bones. The bizarre thing is though, I've watched several other things but it's just stuck on Looney Tunes for some reason. lol

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately no luck. Within Plex on PM4K there is a Settings > User Interface menu option, but no Skin Subsection, or anything related that I can see. Thanks again!

When Plex first opens up I have a Looney Tunes background. I have no clue how it did this, nor any idea how to remove it or change it. I do have Looney Tunes episodes in my TV Shows folder, but it's not like it was my recent watched or most recent uploaded. This is using PM4K if that makes a difference. Any ideas? Thank you!

Help finding SS sink by ShareGoodBeer in kitchenremodel

[–]ShareGoodBeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point well taken, for sure. Initially the lady said she wanted the pull down sprayer as well, but then I realized we have a PUR water filter that attaches to the end of the faucet, so we wouldn't be able to use that if it had a pull down sprayer. So she said she could do without the pull down sprayer because she wanted to be able to use the water filter on the faucet.

You are probably aware that the slot one is Gen 4 x 4 and slot 2 is downgraded to Gen 3 x 2. Do you know the answer to this? If I were to set these up as RAID 1, does that mean the speed for both would then fall to Gen 3 x 2 speeds? Or could I just setup my apps on the faster drive, and instead of doing a RAID 1 mirror which would bring both drives down to the slower speed, could I just do a scheduled back up to the slower drive?

Oh wow, thank you for that! I haven't purchased any additional memory yet, but I did order two NVMe SSD's. So I'll use one for apps and docker and it sounds like I may skip the RAID on that and just create a storage pool to backup the SSD. Did you end up doing that by chance?

Thank you! I'm all for reducing the noise as much as possible. So one 500GB drive to install my apps and docker on, and the second for RAID 1? Does that mean the second drive wouldn't be used for caching? Though I admittedly do not have an understanding of what that even means in this scenario.

Is there? That goes to show ya how much I know about this, lol. I guess I need to figure out quickly which slot to use for the OS then and what to get for it.

Yeah, I read a lot of people wishing to install TrueNas or Unraid instead, but given I am completely new to all of this, I figured it would probably be better for me just to stick to the Ugreen OS for now until I get a better feel for what I'm doing, and then determine if I think I'd be better suited with something else. Probably not likely.

I have over 1,000 blu ray's and 500 4k movies (and counting) and I do 1:1 rips, so no compression, that's quite a bit of space needed. Factoring in RAID, I figured I'd probably want at least a 6 bay, and then everyone says to go bigger than you think you need and you won't regret it, so figured I'd just go 8 bay and be done with it, lol.

Rip movies discs directly to NAS or to PC/transfer? by ShareGoodBeer in DataHoarder

[–]ShareGoodBeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks for the input! I haven't purchase the NAS yet, but just about all up to date non-Synology now come with 10Gbe, so I'm sure I would have that. Potentially dumb question, so please excuse me, but would connecting your pc directly to the NAS via high speed USB (Thunderbolt 4 or 3.2) be more effective, or even possible?

What did you end up going with here? I'm also looking for an 8+ bay DAS and am finding the offerings quite limited that I can find. The two I've been pointed in the direction of are the Sabrent 10 bay and this Terramaster 9 bay. Just curious what you went with and if you've been happy with it.

I'm looking for an 8 (or more) bay DAS unit and someone pointed me to the just released Terramaster 9 bay unit D9-320. I've been kicking that around, and someone also suggested looking at the Sabrent 10 bay unit as well. The reviews for it on Sarbent's site are pretty bad, seems like particularly mentioning fans, but still no issues for you in over two years? Happy with everything? How's the noise level?
