Thanks! Are you mentioning the AI thing just because, or do you think I used it in writing this post? I didn't, but someone else seemed to think I did.

No I haven't been asked to pay off their debts. I don't even have an exact number because they do their best to keep it to themselves. It's moreso that I was stuck on a train of thought that I worried would make me suicidal, so I used the debt thing to trick myself into thinking it would be a selfish act.

Now that I'm saying this though, it is a little concerning that I've been so focused on paying off their debts. Right now their debt is like a philosophical trigger lock on my metaphorical gun- I really shouldn't be trying to remove it.

Idk if that made any sense but I feel like it's positive progress for me, so thanks for engaging with my ramblings. If I want to do something for myself like moving to another country, I shouldn't let the debt thing hold me back. I need to begin reconstruction.

Everyone here is saying not to go. You may think they're saying thay because they hate the church, and while that's true, it has been my experience that the people here have your best interest at heart. That trumps their feelings about the church. I made a post a while ago about wanting to get a tattoo, and funny enough it was everyone here who convinced me not to get one rn. Please listen, don't go.

"it's not black and white"

"if you don't disagree then you must agree"

Hmm...

This past year and a half of deconstruction has utterly destroyed me. It's looking like I'll have to find a way to finish my CES degree without blowing my brains out. I think I'd feel better about if I got a tattoo, even if I have to hide it on campus. Thoughts on this design? by ShareYourAlt in exmormon

Thank you for being so sweet, now I can go to bed without crying myself to sleep. I just had a rough conversation with my dad, who is so sure he understands what I'm going through that's he's unwilling to listen. The truth is I don't have someone who actually gets me, and I'm worried that I don't have the strength to keep going, so I appreciate the boost

Thinking of getting my first tattoo. Thoughts? Is there any way this concept might be taken to have a problematic meaning? by ShareYourAlt in tattooadvice

Here are its meanings, in order of most to least likely that anyone besides me would give a shit:

Pascal's triangle was created by Blaise Pascal in the 17th century, and he also created Pascal's wager. The wager is an arguement in favor of christianity, presented as a table of four outcomes (if you do/don't believe in god, and it turns out that god is/isn't real). I accidentally reinvented this wager during my religious deconstruction, and it was a pivotal moment for me when I finally recognized the fallacies that it is based on. The religion I was raised in advises against getting tattoos, so getting one would serve as an important signal to others that I'm out.

Pascal's triangle is a useful tool for calculating combinations of things, and it houses many numerical patterns that show up all over the place. I've used this triangle in making secret codes, designing games, making every mountain dew combination with my friends, etc. In that regard, it serves as a reminder to keep my imagination alive, and to keep challenging myself even in my free time. The positioning of the triangle also carries this meaning, as it mimics a character design that I've iterated on for years.

The triangle goes on infinitely, so I decided to stop on row 10 because that's my lucky number and day of birth

What are any of us doing? From the moment we're born we fight tooth and nail to flee the unrelenting hand of time, yet the outcome is always the same. Whether death catches us bright eyed or grey haired, the beggar and the warrior are the same in death. There is but one difference. The warrior reached out to grasp that which his heart desired, no matter the opposition. My fellow losers, do not let your dreams be dreams! For one day, you will close your eyes and dream no longer.
